The Lockstone/Oxford having undergone a refurbishment (2014) is basically a lads sports bar featuring a number of large tv screens, pool table and gaming machines. It's fine if you want to meet friends for a quick drink before moving on or watching sports and enjoying a few ales. No particular decor and food is basically standard chain pub fare.

Now called 'The Oxford'. Nice place if all you want is a drink. Totally characterless, this is a great place to meet up with friends before going somewhere with a decent beer and better food.

As with most, but not all pub food chains the food is reasonably priced but not outstanding. I believe it has now changed to purely a sports drinking bar which does seem to suit it better

Had the misfortune to arrange to meet some friends here in the week, what a mistake, staff completely disinterested more bothered about sorting their wages out, holes in the walls, seats and carpets! It's an absolute dive! Avoid like the plague

the ladies toilets are discusting not very clean and no hand drying facilities, this is not acceptable in an establishment where food is served, this has been like this for about 4 months now . I have sent reviews about this before but had no comment. I take it the management cant be bothered to investigate this, wont be coming... More

I have been there quite a few times, for a quick breakfast, however my and the wife went out for dinner for my birthday. It was a Monday evening one staff member behind the bar, a charming young lady very helpful and funny. Out hot drinks took an age to come, because the young lady had to serve and pour... More

Recommend here for breakfast, the breakfast is lovely and well priced 3.79 for two off everything (large) service good and staff polite. You can use tesco club card vouchers here. Get £10 worth of tesco vouchers and redeem them online to get £40 smith and jones vouchers! The only downside is the place could do with a slight refurb inside... More

Visited about 6pm on a Monday night. Very quiet but nice as we could get a table easy as just wanted to eat really. Had the gammon which was lovely with two eggs and the gammon was a huge portion. Puddings were on 'bogof' so we had the mini puds, the cookie and icecream one is lush. Definately go again.... More
