Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Have just had a fantastic Sunday lunch yet again. The beef and roast potatoes were both excellent. The place was very busy but we were seated on time and service was very good. We are local to the area and lucky enough to have some...really good eateries nearby but think this is the best for Sunday lunch. Also love their Haddock and Chips.More

Despite how busy the restaurant was the staff worked so hard to insure our evening out was as outstanding as always. The food was perfectly cooked and presented and represented great value. This is one of the best restaurants around. Thanks to the staff.

Needs to be more customer focused felt like an inconvenience to serve, bar closed for drinks before time and toilets also closed. It’s a shame that a pub that could be great isn’t hitting the mark.

Have tried this superb little pub and restaurant on a few occasions. The hospitality is fantastic and friendly. Their is a good selection of ales and a good wine list. The food is truly superb, delicious pub favourites as well as high end dining. Recently...booked for the chefs tasting menu and it was outstanding, as were the wines. Definitely worth a visitMore

We at UNIC Club are a group of retired business and professional people from the Mansfield area who meet monthly to enjoy fine dining and friendship. Once a year we have an away day from our usual venue and this year we chose The Red...Lion at Thurgarton which proved to be a much inspired selection. We cannot praise the staff and food quality enough. The attention to detail and the excellent service was a credit to the establishment and far exceeded our expectations. Many thanks to Head Chef Kyme Howells his assistant Jack Graham for food preparation which some of our number described as the best they have ever tasted. In addition, the front of house team of Mellina Noble and Laura Brooks could not have made us more welcome with impeccable service. If people are looking for the best dining experience locally then in our opinion this is one place to have at the top of your list.More

This lovely little village pub has a lot to offer great location lovely outdoor space and quaint little tables all around the pub. We visited for my husbands birthday for sunday dinner. The staff are all very pleasant and attentive but what makes this place...is the food all arrived together well presented nice and hot and perfectly cooked 10/10 they even brought a birthday cake out singing which my husband loved. Maybe a few more pounds than other places but well worth every penny and we will definitely return in the summer for food and drinks!!More

There are steps inside the venue but they must surely be able accommodate guests with walking difficulties. Maybe message the venue.
