£40 for sea food set menu. The novelty of them cooking in front of you is fun but the food is extremely disappointing also the smell of the hot plate just smell overwhelming greasey and they don’t have any ventilation very Smokey. -They cook in the so much oil, gave me belly ache -Portion size on small side for the price of the set menu. -All very bland -Some Low quality ingredients food very dated -Egg rice- the hard and dried garlic . -Miso soup bland no flavour -lobster was nice but the cuttle fish was disgusting -Scallops also nice but they chopped them up Into small cubes, would of preferred them to whole -Salmon wasn’t nice tasted of cheap quality cut and flavours and seasoning wasn’t enjoyable. -Bean sprouts veg dish at the end was bland and boring -They then cleaned the table and didn’t have even give us out green tea -Seated and eat only half the food and was up and paying within 35mims felt rushed off the table

As fans of Japanese food I treated my partner to a meal here for his birthday, he loved it as did I. Fresh traditional dishes, amazing flavours & variety. The whole experience was amazing. We opted for Teppan Yaki so the chef cooks everything in front of you. The lobster, beef, filet steak, salmon & chicken were all so tasty, even the egg fried rice. Would highly recommend & we’re planning on taking our family there for our next visit.

Went for my friends birthday, got split up just because we didn’t order anything tepanyaki. My friend when phoning to book made sure they understood we wanted to be sat together and they confirmed we would. How do you expect us to come for her birthday and split half of us up? Staff was rude aswell, not a single smile. Food was bland and not worth the price .

The service revolves around teppanyaki, which is light years away from authentic Japanese teppanyaki. It's practically a Chinese restaurant that has "turned" towards Japanese cuisine since there's no shortage of sauces and greasy food. The teppanyaki itself takes place around a table with other diners you don't know, so don't go if you want privacy. The chef seems to have more fun with small juggling and fire tricks rather than focusing on cooking good teppanyaki; it doesn't matter if the meat ends up burned. The teppanyaki selections are limited and bland, with fried rice used as filler. There's no attention to cooking techniques, the deliberate movements, or the orderliness in the true spirit of Japanese cuisine. It's just a show-off that aims to entertain customers who don't even know where Japan is. The à la carte dishes are 20% more expensive than average, and for a place like this, the prices hover around £50 per person. The sushi is awful. It feels like you're eating inside a parking lot or a basement; there are no windows, no natural light. All of this is worsened by the fumes that aren't properly extracted, filling the place with a fishy smell that will cling to your clothes even after 4 machine washes. After spending some time in the restaurant, you just want to leave because you can't breathe.

Ginza has become our occasion go to. The food is always fantastic, especially the teppanyaki set meals, the staff are lovely, and watching the chefs cook at the table is entertaining. I've been several times and am always impressed. It's even better since they refurbished the loos!

We went here with friends who love the place, we went with there reccomendation of a couple of sushi sharer plates then the ginza deluxe sharer. The food is cooked on your table in front of you I enjoyed the food, my partner didnt but this is my review.. The food was nice, but all seemed to be cooked in the same sauces, which is a shame because it would of been nice with different flavours and spices. The crab sushi was really nice tho. 2 downfalls... the soft drinks tasted cheap and flat ( coke and lemonade ) And you come out smelling of the fat like at a greasy spoon. Dont think id rush back for the prices but not a bad meal

Absolutely disgusting experience. We were just two, once arrived (previously booked) the waitress asked us whether we know about the place, we clarified this was the first time and it would be better to explain how it works (since I found out later, by myself, that there are waiting tables and only after you have ordered, depending on what you are getting, they place you on the main grill-fancy-teppan tables). She left us on the worst table in the room, gave us menus and left. After ordering the drinks, the same waitress that just left us there comes to take our orders, and starts asking over and over again once she founds out we just wanted Gyoza and sushi (I wasn't feeling well and couldn't eat anything particular to not feel sick and sushi seemed the best choice - also if in the menu there are options to eat only sushi I take for granted that it shouldn'tbe a problem, and if it is someone will EXPLAIN). In the end we waited 40 MINUTES at the worst table in the place to get 4 deep fried absolutely disgusting and poor quality Gyozas, and a bunch of poor quality sushi (should be 20 pcs) of which 6 pcs were cucumber... so yeah you spend 20£ to eat cucumber and feel guilty because you haven't taken nothing worthy enough to eat on the fancy tables. Also the place is not clean: our table wasn't clean, same the plate they brought me, and in 40 minutes of wait I had the chance to look around me and notice the amount of dust ok the counter next to our table, and in the place in general.

Visited as part of a group at lunchtime and I was apprehensive. This is my first time at such as restaurant and I have a food allergy (Fish) which begs the question why a Japanese restaurant. I made the waitress aware and was pointed to the best menu options for me and was also advised that my meal would be cooked separately in the kitchen. Could not fault the food. It was cooked perfectly, the portion size was more than adequate. The whole experience was fantastic (we had booked at 12 but they didn't open until a bit later). I would quite happily come back here if the opportunity arose.

Oh my goodness, I’ve been here many times and had many chefs but Mark the chef is truly super amazing. He was the chef for my birthday meal and he kept us entertained, included me in cutting which was great fun. I’d definitely visit gain and request him. He made my birthday meal the greatest.

I went to ginza today for a birthday celebration. I'll be totally honest a lot of the group arrived late however, it didn't warrant the treatment we got. We had two tables first tables order was taken, after 15 minutes we informed one of the waitress that our table have not given our orders yet. The waitress responded to a customer on the other table and said "I need to go over there they are complaining". I was extremely offended by this and asked why she is saying we're complaining, as we were not. The lady responded by rolling her eyes, which was spotted by the rest of the table. I've been going to this restaurant over 17 years I'm a regular! I therefore spoke to another worker who I recognised and told her what happened, she responded by saying "well I don't understand why you keep coming back if you said your not". I was flabbergasted as I never said that. If I was unhappy no matter how good the food is I wouldn't return. The lady proceeded to tell me "everytime you guys come here you look miserable". That was it I had to leave as this women was about to take me out my character. There's no way they was getting my hard earned money. She also said that the her colleague finds us intimidating every time we go in. Maybe I chew aggressively This is totally untrue as most of the staff have known me for years and will vouch that we are not a problem to them. I go with different groups of people and they are clearly thinking all black people look alike. She also said you come back because we are the only restaurant of this kind. We then spoke to the manager who agreed that her staff was wrong but she couldn't do anything as she needs the staff. Never ever again!!! My Ginza days are officially over and I will be encouraging family and friends not to go. On leaving the lady that referred to me as miserable said she shouldn't of said that and asked if we could forget about it. Too late lady!! I've taken myself to Mr Man's where I'm treated with respect

We’re regulars here. Never fails to disappoint. Excellent food and service. Always highly recommend this place along side the Ginza Deluxe. Restaurant itself could do with a spruce up personally but when the food is that good, who cares! 5* plus

Ginza is great for couples or small groups, everyone one of our family loves the Teppanyaki grill. We recently went as two couples with different dietary requirements. The restaurant coped easily with our vegan and gluten free guests. Even though the food came out at different times to the food cooked in front of us on the grill it didn’t distract from an excellent meal. The lobster is some of the best we have tasted and I’d recommend asking for extra fried, dried, garlic. Our favourite is th3 Ginza Delux, a little bit of everything.
