We have been here a few times now, a lovely venue, great service and great food. The Roast Chicken and Pork were very tasty and the ice cream and sorbet, just slipped down!

Our party of 6 went to Perkins for Mothers Day lunch and ate in the restaurant. The dining room could have been a little warmer as a cold March Day. Starters of Salmon, Prawn and Crab Tian and the Cheese Brûlée very good. The chef...More

Having read good reviews, we went to Perkins for a celebratory dinner. While the food was indeed good, the whole experience was let down by terrible customer service. We ordered a bottle of white wine. It was already open when brought to the table, but...More

Visited for the first time for Sunday lunch after hearing good reviews for this restaurant and was not disappointed. Food was excellent and the staff polite and attentive; a very attractive venue and value for money. We shall certainly return

Took my parents for evening dinner, once again fabulous from start to finish. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who's a foodie like me!

The search for a perfect reasonably priced lunch took us to Perkins. There is a very acceptable a la Carte lunch menu but the fixed price two or three course lunch looked very tempting. On a busy Thursday we were well looked after from start...More

Very well presented beautiful tasting food. At first I thought the main course was a little meagre but I quickly changed my mind. The dish was perfectly balanced and actually all three courses were excellent. Service was good and the price was reasonable but more...More

A delightful setting in an old railway station. Innovative menu, good value prix fixe, and melt in mouth steaks on Friday night!!! Staff very friendly and welcoming. We always know we will have a lovely meal in relaxed surroundings with attentive service.

Going to this small country restaurant is a treat so we decided to go for our wedding anniversary. Sadly the whole evening was a disaster. I was served a glass of flat bubbly and we didn't even get offered the wine list. The food was...More

I came to this restaurant with my family for a birthday meal on a Saturday afternoon. Having previously looked at the menu, I noticed there was hardly any vegetarian options, as even the chips were cooked in duck fat, and there were no vegan options....More

Perkins Bar & Bistro, located at Plumtree’s beautiful former Victorian Railway station, enjoyed an exciting transformation in 2016. Emerging as Perkins Bar & Bistro to fanfare from critics and public alike, the new eaterie offers food that’s modern and fresh. There are sharer-board starters, ‘Bistro bites’, main plates and daily specials using ingredients from Perkins’ very own smokehouse. There’s an ever-changing daily Prix Fixe, Afternoon Teas and Perkins’ Sunday offering is extended until 5pm - modern and classic seasonal dishes that commit to ingredients sourced from quality suppliers, local when possible. In terms of interior, think rustic tables, brass light fittings and bar seats amid reclaimed textures and materials. The re-designed interior offers a relaxed countryside bistro feel, somewhere you’d be equally happy to pop in for a pint and a snack or enjoy lunch or dinner.
