We joined friends just before Christmas for a pre-celebratory dinner. The Maytime is situated in the heart of a true Cotswold village. The food was delicious, cooked to order - so we had to wait a little while but the atmosphere is relaxed and you quickly adapt to your environment. Great quality food at reasonable prices. The only downside on... More

We met friends for Sunday Lunch here having had a lovely time the first visit. Not impressed this time, hard roast potatoes, the Yorkshire Puddings were so crunchy they had obviously been reheated several times. Most of the waiting staff were very nice but the scruffy young man in jeans had an attitude problem. Think they need a more experienced... More

4 of us ate here in December. Between us we had whiteboard and foccacia as starters. Main courses were steak and ale pie and 3 fish and chips. Then fish was excellent and chips were moist inside and crispy out. We were all too full to have dessert but did have coffee. Excellent food and good value. Would definitely recommend... More

Dom and Andy (plus the lovely Alfie) always make us feel welcome and have a great range of interesting drinks and excellent ever changing food on offer. I love the sense of fun in the menu and the drinks list. This is good honest cooking to a high standard without all the poncey bits others think are needed.

This is a lovely looking building set in a beautiful part of the Cotswolds. It has a good size car park and lots of outdoor seating with a view in nice weather. The inside of the pub is really well laid out and interesting with the tables not set too close together. We stayed for just a sandwich lunch though... More

We are new to the area and live nearby so were delighted when we stumbled across this pub. We had been for a walk and popped in on a heaving Sunday and were only able to have some drinks and bar nibbles - not a problem, it was pleasing to see it so full. We had a lovely afternoon with... More

This restaurant is situated a short distance off the A40 near to a roundabout to the east of Burford. It has a very pleasant external area for use in warmer weather. We visited for lunch on a Saturday. After a slightly formal welcome, we were shown to a table in one of the pleasant small dining areas. The menu had... More

There was a time when The Maytime went through a dodgy period, the service was awful and the food was unremarkable. It now has a charming, welcoming atmosphere with a well priced menu, good service and great quality food. Whether these improvements will be maintained when they are busy is another matter, but I hope so. Some of the dishes... More

Four of us visited for Sunday lunch. The pub/restaurant is lovely - the village is tiny and very quaint. We couldn't get in the car park as it was too busy so parked on the narrow road outside. The staff are very attentive and the menu looked appetising but, to coin a phrase, the menu reads well but doesn't necessarily... More

Were taken by local friends for dinner on a Friday. Initial impressions excellent but the food my wife and I ordered was extremely poor. The whitebait starter was limp and not as hot as it should be. We both ordered the duck breast which turned out to be extremely tough and chewy. the spinach beneath it was very gritty and... More
