Rather average cafe. Lacks atmosphere or warmth. Staff were functional rather than friendly. Microwaved heated scones. Coffee was distinctly average. I’m sure there are other cafes in Burford that are more inviting.

What happened to hufkins??? They used to sell quality local produce and lots of it for their breakfast, now I am not sure what the bacon was but really? Served cold with soggy bread. Disappointed . Has quality been sacrificed for expansion?
Lovely coffee, good service but £11 for a microwaved cheese scone with a bit of butter & chutney. Scones should never be microwaved! they turn rubbery. Totally spoiled it.
Went for breakfast with my wife 12 Nov 10am. Full English breakfast: £13 but not worth it… 1 poached egg runny and one not. (Both tiny) Cheap hash browns. Basic sausage, would have expected butchers sausage or something meatier. Beans ok. Bacon very fatty and...not too enjoyable. Ketchup quite runny and not tasty. Poached eggs and avocado: £12, again 1 egg runny and 1 hard. Avacado way too cold which made the eggs cold, needed to be sat out from the fridge for a bit. (Plates are cold too so eat fast) Flat white coffees: their coffee is very bitter and tastes similar to Turkish coffee. All in all £35 which is ok for quality but this fell well below that level. I think the many breakfast offerings at the Burford hotels would be a better bet. Maybe huffkin’s focus is on the cakes and pastries? On the positive side, the best thing was the lovely welcome from the guy at the entrance and the chairs were comfy.More
Lovely place for a light lunch. We had to queue for a bit but there were 6 of us. Very tasty toasties. The cakes looked good too.
The staff were friendly and efficient, but sadly the ambience is not what it was. The shop side used to sell a whole range of baking, but hardly anything is left. We found the same situation at Stow on the Wold.
I have known Huffkins for as long as I d lived here, I think my first ever afternoon tea was here. So when I need to organise an afternoon tea for a load of ladies to celebrate our friends 50th, I naturally chose Huffkins. Firstly,...customer service was excellent, emailing to make the booking and hold the table. It was super simple, great communication and very accommodating.. huffkins has lost a few of its traditional touches like full table service, so you need to order either from an app or the desk, a sign of the tines, so didn't bother me, it hasn't, however, lost its impeccable service, very lovely ladies who couldn't do enough for us fussy bunch. The afternoon tea is stunning beautiful sandwiches of lots of different fillings, freshly baked, warm scones, and lots of different cakes. The traditional is a huge portion so (some, not me) ended up taking some of it home. My favourite thing was the never-ending teapot, drinks are refilled on a traditional. We weren't rushed along and so spent a lovely time catching up and eating cake. Highly recommend it was a special afternoon. Thank you .More
Tea and scones excellent. Very fresh and tasty, served quickly by efficient, polite and friendly staff. What's not to like!
Was great service. Mary was very helpful . Really clean. Quick service. Staff very helpful. A good range of cakes and drinks
Very good service nice staff carry nice cake nice tea I would rate it a five star place share with other people
We visited Huffkins for breakfast and was pleasantly surprised. The place was welcoming by friendly staff and was clean and tidy. The waitor promptly took our order so didn’t have to wait long at all. We had the full english which was delicious! All locally...sauced ingredients which were beautiful and reasonably priced for the tourist location. The staff were tentitive throughout our visit which is always a good sign. The drinks were also delicious! We will be back for sure!More
Had a lovely breakfast at Huffkins in Burford. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the breakfast, coffee and milkshakes were delicious. We will be back.
Over rated. A pasty, some crisps and about 3 lettuce leaves as a supposed mixed salad cost £9.95. Even worse a reformed chicken ceaser salad bun @ £13.95. The wait for the meal was over 30 minutes. There seemed little care of the quality and...cost and more about excessive passing customers. Extortionate. The pot of tea was good quality and very tastyMore
The staff were unaware that we had booked afternoon tea. On being made aware staff became attentive, the food was ok but the whole meal lacked finesse which made the experience both pricey and a disappointment
Food very average and front of house was very unexperienced and stressy. Will not be returning. People were lined up and shouted at to stand on the left hand side. Empty tables uncleared. Seemed to be plenty of staff but they were just a shambles....Such a shame.More
