Stayed here on a 4 day break in the Cotswolds. The photos on their website do not do the rooms justice. Yes they are small but so comfortable, cosy, clean and good value for money. Easy access through a side door when the cafe wasn’t open and it was so quiet and even the nearby church bells didn’t disturb us.
The rooms don’t come with breakfast but this can be purchased, along with other meals with a 20% discount for guests in the cafe. Again, good value for money and very tasty. Would certainly recommend.

Visited this establishment on our last visit a few years back when we enjoyed breakfast on several days. Returned recently and nothing has changed - thankfully. This time we opted for the "special" of warm croissant with cheese and bacon plus coffee all for a fiver!! Still warm, clean and very welcoming. The Waitress who served us both days was SO friendly and polite - a credit to the place! We'll be back!!

My husband and I visited this lovely establishment with my brother - who was over from the USA, for 2 nights. We should have been on holiday in Lanzarote but due to family illness this had to be cancelled.
Burford is my favourite destination in the Cotswolds. The Priory Tearoom is a delightful place. Our room had everything we needed, the bed was very comfortable, the decor was delightful and the wet room was compact but very nice. I slept like a log!! There is a patio area to sit out if the weather is good. We ate breakfast in the tearoom, this is charged separately. We had full English breakfast and it was very good. The tea was just as we like it - strong!! It certainly set us up for the day. On day two I had the scone and jam and tea whilst the men had poached egg on toast / once again it was delicious.
The owners were very friendly and helpful, the staff were also very chatty and kind.
We will definitely visit again and I am considering purchasing an overnight stay as a gift for my sons and their wives as I know they would also enjoy it very much.
There are loads of places to visit nearby, Burford garden centre is lovely, we went to Bibury which is simply beautiful, Chipping Camden and Stowe on the Wold.
A lovely break which relieved the stress for a couple of days.

The reception we received was hardly welcoming. We ordered the butternut squash and sweet potato soup which came with bread at £7.25 per bowl. Sourdough was an extra £1.
When the soup arrived it was a tiny portion, had been microwaved to an inch of its life rather than warmed gently which explained the lack of flavour and was generally disappointing.
At £7.25 for a tiny bowl (or £8.25 with Sourdough) we had expected a decent sized portion and great quality bread. Sadly we were disappointed on all fronts and should have looked elsewhere for a friendlier place and a more reasonably priced offering.
One well put down to experience.

I visited today with my family and a (small) dog. We have been here a few times with our pet. Usually when it's warmer and have been in the rear garden. Due to how cold it was outside we sat inside. I ordered some hot drinks. I asked to pay for my drinks and my cake when I ordered (that's fine) and to take my cake back to my table. No quibble.
The member of staff asked other customers that had recently seated that 'you have to wait' in a rude voice.
The drinks arrived, the member of staff saw our dog and said they're not a pet friendly establishment in a rude voice. I said we have been here a number of times and always been welcomed. She said that's untrue. I was going to request a refund because of being displeased. I didn't want to argue and asked for the hot drinks to be put in a takeaway cups and the cake in a box.
When she returned she said she's been working in the coffee shop for the last 9 years in a rude voice and then changed her stance on the coffee shop being pet friendly. It's pet friendly at the front and rear garden. Why have you now changed your stance when I said we previously sat in the rear garden?
Terrible customer service, absolutely rude and the drinks had no flavour. Maybe this was lost in the cardboard cups they are served in?
Disappointed with the customer services from the lady considering I have been here for the last 10 years!

After visiting the Cotswolds wildlife park on perhaps the worst day we could have chosen, we were in need of somewhere close to warmup and have a brew! Google suggested this tea rooms, and it seemed reasonably priced too which was a bonus. We headed over, parked up for free and walked over. When we got inside we sat down and were told to order at the desk, we both got a bacon brie and cranberry sandwich and a hot drink each. The sandwiches were lovely, proper thick bacon and lovely cranberry jam, we were served quickly and the atmosphere was nice. Would definitely return next time we are in the area!

Burford was heaving on a warm Sunday afternoon and definitely overrun with cars. But we were able to park in the free car park only a few hundred metres from the High Street and we immediately found the Priory Cafe. We sat in their courtyard with cold drinks and very nice warm cheese scones. They had quite a big menu including all day breakfast as well as some very nice looking cakes.

One night stay in this little gem in Burford. Very reasonably priced and fantastic value for money. Ideally located on the high street-spotlessly clean and most important, great breakfast with top products. All staff were extremely courteous and changed breakfast time to suit us on a busy day. Highly recommended.

We booked the bed and breakfast knowing we would be sharing a toilet and shower. We only needed one night. The facilities were immaculate. The room we had was bright and airy and had a relaxing feel as soon as we entered. You have to hope all the other guests have a high standard of hygiene, but there was cleaning sprays readily available. Parking is easily available in the free public carpark or on the road after certain times.
Breakfast had a range of items to chose depending on your diet.. we had the full breakfast with sour dough toast. Plenty to keep us going for the day.
The staff were really helpful and friendly. Deb suggested places to eat in the evening and we had a wonderful meal in the Royal Oak.
Definitely staying again.

Third time we’ve visited for a Sunday morning breakfast on the way to the nearby Cotswold Wildlife Park. Both previous occasions faultless but this occasion was particularly good. Bacon and sausages in particular top notch. Great little place.

We stopped here for a bite to eat and drink on our way home through Burford. We had three dogs with us and owing to the warm weather, didn't have time to scope out all the offerings in the town, but we were so pleased to come across The Priory.
It has a lovely outdoor courtyard to the back of the tearooms and also some smaller tables out on the pavement at the front. There were plenty of tables to choose from (some with parasols and some without) and thankfully it wasn't too busy, so we felt comfortable with the space between us and other guests given the current Covid situation. There is a note up that says to beware of wasps in the garden, but this really wasn't an issue - there were some, but it wasn't as if we were swarmed by them and there were several wasp traps placed round the courtyard.
We chose to try a couple of the sandwiches (spicy falafel, spinach and sweet chilli on farmhouse brown and egg mayo and spinach on farmhouse brown), coffee cake, fruit scone with jam and cream and had a latte and pot of tea between us for drinks. The sandwiches were amazing and it was so refreshing to see interesting vegetarian/vegan options on the menu, rather than standard, often boring options! They came made with thick cut freshly baked bread and the fillings were really generous. The spicy falafel, spinach and sweet chilli was possibly one of the best vegetarian sandwiches I've ever had out. The latte was a generous size too.
We were so pleased with the quick service we received, friendliness of the staff and general atmosphere. All the staff were masked and great care was taken on cleaning tables down upon guests leaving. We were also relieved to see that there was a sign up outside encouraging mask wearing when passing through indoors. Travelling with several people in our party understandably anxious about Covid, we felt as comfortable here as we could have done in the current time.
Thank you to all the staff involved in making The Priory a lovely place to stop.

A a tour guide I travel a lot and use a lot of cafes/restaurants. The Priory in Burford is always a favorite stop for lunch. Service is always immaculate and the menu is varied and good value.
I very much enjoy the egg mayo sandwich and the mushrooms on sourdough toast.
Downside is that it can get busy and it's pretty cramped inside but in the summer months there is an excellent garden eating area.

Went here as we had visited before, ordered two ham and onion sandwich and an avocado and poached egg on sour dough with three coffees.
We had to order inside due to the current restrictions, however a nice touch we were charged the take out prices. Service was swift and it came presented as a take away.
Would definitely recommend and return.

Happened upon this tea shop - absolutely delicious!... and superb value. Afternoon tea for 2 for £8... choice of sandwich and cake, followed with scone with jam and cream. 3 of us had bacon Brie and cranberry - generous filling and so tasty on nice fresh thick brown bread.
Really highly recommend

We stopped here for lunch and loved the feel of the place.
The food portions are quite large and the bread is the good old fashioned door-step!! The bread was beautifully fresh and tasted lovely.
Coffee was also very good.
Unfortunately other members of our party weren’t so excited about their food and the underside of the toast was burnt, which wasn’t great.
The staff were fairly friendly but I didn’t find them welcoming.
