On our Midsomer Murder tour we stayed at the Argyll Pub for lunch. Very good food and nice people in this particularly pub in Henley where Barnaby and Jones have been !

My wife, father-in-law and our cocker spaniel 'Buddy' went boating on a Kris Cruisers boating holiday and we searched for dog friendly pubs. We found the Argyll Pub in Henley extremely friendly and with great food. We enjoyed it so much we went back to the pub 2 days later on our way back down stream. If your looking for... More

This little pub does great food with massive portions!! What's not to like? Had a liver pate starter which came with big, thick slices of toast, excellent. I had a big old meat pie for main and it was lush! The service was good and the staff were super friendly. A great place to eat, drink and relax!

Had two soup and eat with both our children. Had a few pints. Friendly staff, didn't have to wait to long to get served. Children got an ice cream because staff found we did have to wait to long. Food good, wide variety of beers,... We came here to have just a drink occasionally. Staff and patron always equally friendly... More

I have been to the Argyll on many occasions, but on recent visits have noticed that food prices are too high for what is pretty standard pub fare, and the drinks prices are a bit high too. It's rescued by cheerful, friendly staff, though having seen a manager/publican treating them with little respect in front of customers, that's a bit... More

Have been here once before for dinner. Nice pub, nothing special but a nice atmosphere early on a Sunday evening with plenty of drinking customers at the bar who must be locals. Decent food, slightly over priced for pub food. However, lovely meal, decent access with disabled parking opposition the market place.

Lovely pub in the centre of Henley. The staff were friendly. We did not eat there as we had both had a large breakfast but it was busy with diners and the food looked plentiful. We knew that the pub had been used in Midsomer Murders and I had a pint of that brew it was very pleasant. It was... More

This is the cutest pub! We ate at the corner table by the window. Our server told us Barnaby and Jones had sat at that very table! The fellow behind the bar allowed us to take a picture behind all the ale taps, with the Midsomer one being in the forefront. It's such a neat picture. The food was good... More
