The food was good and not expensive.
The Thali which you do not often find is worth a try.
A bottle of water is on the table when you arrive, the price was added to my bill even though it was not used, I asked for it to be deducted and it was. Left a bad taste.

food always good when order, and always ready on time.
Ordered online last night, and for the first time, there is a Surcharge of 50p on the bill. When i queried this with the restaurant, they said it was added by the person who created the online ordering app. There is nothing on the website to say this Surcharge would be added.
Order by phone now - and avoid yet another scam.

Visited Cafe Le Raj for the first time last night and I'm sure it won't be the last. The food was good and while I may have had better, certainly not at the prices at Le Raj. Excellent value for money and would definitely recommend for a cheap, informal evening out.

I met a friend here for dinner, we arrived at 6pm and received good friendly service. Food was promptly served and was very tasty and fresh. There was a nice atmosphere in the restaurant as tables steadily filled up. Overall we enjoyed both the food and the experience and will be returning in the future.

Originally told my food would be 50mins so ok that’s fine, 124mins later after calling my food arrived, food was pretty much cold, san paneer had 4 bits of cheese and the lime pickle resembles a minty yoghurt, I normally use Asiana spice but decided to try something different, I wish I hadn’t at all. Having to reheat my food and add extras myself to make it nicer makes me wonder if I should just have cooked myself. Not impressed and I wouldn’t recommend. A shame.

Excellent meal at CafeLeRaj: service from moment one, until we left was exceptional. Friendly staff, highly attentive and knowledgeable. The food was delicious. Best poppadoms and sauces. Main of king Prawn tikka highly recommended. Think they blend their own spices. Didn’t taste processed. The side dishes (okra, aubergine, paneer spinach) were delicious and not oily. Top experience.

Went early evening for dinner. Place was quiet but soon filled up. Food was ok, good value mainly. Main issue for me was the time ...... I hadn’t realised they clearly give priority to take away orders ....... so while someone ordering takeaway can pick up a meal in 20 ‘mins we had to wait an hour for starters to arrive, and another 45 mins for mains. When the mains arrived it seems to me they were rushed - nothing was really hot, looked like just warmed through at most. Very disappointed overall ...... have been before on a mid week night and it was much much better.

Disappointed/disgusted by the customer service! Totally humiliated just now at 20:45hrs!! Won’t go Into the detail but just paid and walked out.
To the manager:
You know what you have done so learn from this mistake.
First time I’ve used this place and the last.
You “The manager” need to understand the basics of customer service and good manners, its the basic principle of any good business. Next week I will eat over the road at Asiana Spice where the table side manners are a little more (let’s say polite).
Sad really because I normally eat out in a group of six/eight people every week when out on business, especially in Henley. This time I was on my own and I have just learnt how you are treated very differently if you are a lone visitor.

I've eaten here a few times with a group of friends and we've always been very impressed. We enjoy ordering a large range of the vegetarian side dishes and sharing them between us: the chana masala and the tarka dall are my particular favourites. Looking forward to visiting again soon!

We had an unbelievable occurrence in here. Six of us sat down for what was going to be a lot of money spent.
First of all, there was nobody in the restaurant so that was odd, but it was early. We all got the impression that we wasn’t welcome as they didn’t seem interested. We eventually ordered beers, wine & water and 12 poppadoms. The atmosphere and rudeness of the staff was terrible and extremely surprising give the previous reviews.
After some awkward exchanges and clear bluntness from one of the staff, we all decided to go somewhere else.
We couldn’t believe that they looked surprised but off we went.
We all found another Indian restaurant and spent £345 in there.
Unbelievable that they lost our business due to the staff.

We booked a table for 7 and turned up a little early which wasn’t a problem at all for the very friendly and helpful staff. Although there was not track and trace, the staff were following the government guidance on face covering, hand sanitising etc. we felt very safe. Now onto the food, absolutely spot on and delicious, very generous portions and certainly one of the tastiest meals I’ve had for a while. Cost wise, it was exceptional value for such great quality food. I’d recommend this place and will definitely return when I return to Henley. Many thanks Cafe Le Raj, superb meal.

Booked a table, after having an excellent takeaway a few days before. The staff were very professional and adhered to the Covid safety rules. We had another fantastic meal, the vegetable dishes we ordered were so fresh. We had chicken and king prawn dishes that were so delicious. It is the best Indian ever.
I felt very relaxed, and it was our first meal out since lockdown.
The menu caters for everyone.
Well done to all the staff for ensuring it was a perfect evening.

Fantastic food, wonderful service and great hospitality . One of the most outstanding Indian restaurants in Henley. Value for money and the quality is superb! Staff were great and tailored the order to our requirements . I had a chicken Zala and the other half had a tandoori sea bass. To sum up this restaurant in one word - exquisite!

We popped in quite late, the staff could not of been more welcoming and polite.
The food was excellent with great flavour and served in good time.
You could sense how proud the team were of the restaurant and for that reason, we will be coming back!

We were staying in the area. Did a quick search for Indian takeaway.
Wow, superb service and honestly amazing food. Hope to try again when in the area. Highly recommend, great quality and great value.
