An excellent second choice...

After a failed attempt to get a burger at another place which had closed their kitchen at almost 20:30 we opted for Craft Burger in Headington Oxford. We were not disappointed. Although quiet for a Thursday night there were a few other diners. We ordered starters and mains with drinks plus a couple of sides. The chicken wings start was plentiful - possibly enough for two and covers with a rich and tangy BBQ sauce. Wings were piping hot at the table and a bone plate was provided without asking, which is a nice touch. The hamburgers were fantastic and reasonably priced. The patties (I ordered an extra but one was plenty) were thick, juicy and perfectly cooked coming to the table piping hot. The burger was generously slathered in bacon and cheese with a tasty sauce and pickles. I love a good burger and this was definitely top 10. The sides were good and the dirty fries were excellent. Skinny fries heaped with bacon and a cheesy, tangy sauce with jalapenos and white onions a plenty. A nice draft Tap Social IPA to drink was a great accompaniment to the food. Service was good and attentive though the food was a little slow coming out of the kitchen but nothing to make a fuss about. Price was very good value. In all a good evening out and a great burger joint. I'd happily eat there again and recommend to my burger loving friends.

Yummy rustic style burger place

An awesome, rustic style burger joint within a quiet part of Oxford. The food was yummy especially the buffalo wings (highly recommended). They made the burger specific to our specifications and everything arrived to the table in a timely manner (between starters and mains). The service was excellent and the menu reasonably priced. Would defo visit again.

Carb intolerant friendly

The best place to go for a burger in Oxford, but this is especially true if you don’t / can’t eat bread. They always serve naked burgers with a really lovely salad, which although you would think might be a given, certainly is not. You feel you are still getting value for money, something which the other popular burger restaurants around Oxford don’t do! There are also low carb options as sides to add to your meal. Thanks CRAFT for catering so well for a carb intolerant person 😀

Friendly staff, but average food and inequitable treatment of vegans.

First time visit following recommendation from local guest house. Sadly, I can’t extend that recommendation, especially if you are vegan. Firstly, the positives - the staff and the service were both excellent. Food intolerance was taken very seriously and I felt well looked after. Unfortunately, the burger itself was fairly average (not bad at all, just not special) and the sweet potato fries weren’t good. That would be 3 stars. The reason for dropping to 2 stars was something I’ve never experienced anywhere else… With a food intolerance, I’d asked for a vegan bun instead of the brioche bun the burger would normally be served with. I cannot see how these days I could possibly be charged an extra £2 specifically for the ‘vegan bun’ itemised on the receipt. Perhaps if you’re a vegan, there’s a question of why you’d be in a burger bar. But if you’re a vegan, I would prepare for feeling like a second class citizen. Friendly staff, but average food and inequitable treatment of vegans.

A bit disappointing for a high-end burger place

Personally I think this place is overrated from a food perspective, though the kids were happy and the service was good, friendly and accommodating. I expect high end burger places to allow you to have your burger cooked how you like. I like medium rare, yet here it was well done or nothing. I also like my burgers a little thicker, but I understand that’s a personal preference. At £110 for a family of 5 it felt a bit pricey for the experience, and the food was a bit mediocre to be honest.

That is our policy that the beef patties are cooked at 75 degrees which makes them medium well done (well done available upon request). They will still be slightly pink inside and juicy as we use fresh locally sourced meat. We implemented this policy to ensure burgers are safe to eat. We came here for lunch, to take advantage of the £10 lunch deal. However, the fact that a vegan option is not included in the lunch deal, with no option to change this was awful. Paying extra to be vegan isn’t the best move to keep a customer coming back. The burger itself was okay, but again, not incredible and I’ve had better. Chips were very salty.

Been here countless times. The burgers are so tasty and very well priced. The lunch deal on weekdays is an absolute bargain and makes the whole experience even better. The staff is always super friendly, would highly recommend.

Great burger place and gluten friendly!

Having recently discovered this place at the weekend my husband and I can't wait to go back. The staff were friendly and very helpful with my coeliac disease (no gluten not even cross contamination). Normally when I ask staff at other places about gluten free meals I'm not 100% satisfied they realise the seriousness or even know what coeliac disease is. But the lady who served us straight out asked if I had a gluten intolerance or coeliac and then listed the main food options I could choose from (not sure on the dessert menu thou). :) Also, during this uncertain time of COVID-19 it was comforting to see the track and trace app in place and option to use an app to review the menu rather than a hard copy menu. The staff keep the place clean, thoroughly dusting and cleaning the place. If you are in the Headington area definitely try this place for a tasty burger and gluten free beer.

Great for kids

Great kids menu with perfect portion sizes, and a variety of options. The little one liked that they did a plain burger in a brioche bun with tomato and lettuce on the side. There is so much choice for adults too with a huge brunch menu as well as burgers and salads. The Hallouminati burger is amazing! Service was prompt and it's a really nice, informal place to eat with loads of choice and tasty food.

Hidden Headington Hotspot!!

Nice chilled atmosphere… Friendly staff…. Well priced …. Generous portions and fresh good (could see straight away and taste fresh oil, onions rings and chips were fresh and not oiley - very impressed) quality food. Taste is spot on - Buffalo wings… WOW! Cant wait to go back, could eat in there again today ;)

I think the best burger I have ever had.

The Shiitake burger ( burger, mushrooms, pineapple) was the best burger I have ever tasted. The moist beef has a really nice texture and balanced taste. It blends perfectly with the mushrooms and pineapple. I had the buffalo wings, dirty fries and mac & cheese as sides. They were all very good but the dirty fries is a hit. As a steak lover who loves real food I think every who likes McDonald’s or Burger King would absolutely love these real burgers.

Amazing value for money

Easily the best burger I've ever had, for the same price you'd pay for a frozen burger from a chain pub. Food arrived so quickly, and place has a lovely feel. Can't recommend highly enough.

Best burgers in Oxford, highly recommend. Headington is great for food, but craft burger breathes a lot of life into the area. Highly recommend both their meat and vegan, vegitarian options, and great options for drinks (Tap Social beer on tap)

Great and friendly service and even better food. Our halloumi fries and garlic and mayo chicken bites were a great start (chicken bites absolutely amazing) and our burgers accompanied with macaroni cheese, fries and onion rings were just as good! Definitely recommend this place. Will be coming back.

Burger Paradise

Called off after being to friends funeral . Great place love the interior . Great staff great service . We chose a Naked straight up burger with monterey jack cheese ( no bun ) and extra beef patty . Added avocado and craft slaw . Diet Coke . And a straight up burger with cheddar cheese and rosemary salted fries . And coke . All came quickly well presented . Very tasty certainly good again . Like to try other burgers they have . Reasonable priced for quality food . Well worth’s visit .
