We had to organise a bit at the last minute on Monday a leaving party for our friends baker and pastry chef. This place was the only one agree to accomodate a group of eleven of us, specially because of the Covid 19 rules, but we were more than happy to get a table outside for us, the weather been actually nice. As "team leader", I came inside first and was really well welcomed by the chef himself. He gave me menus for everyone, and on my demand he started straight away to confection some antipasti plates. They were really busy, and to help the staff(working hard)I took the order of my group, pizzas and drinks, but then the service was fully efficient! Pizzas were delicious, cooked perfectly, the staff was responding to any of our demands, and it seems that everyone was from Italy there so we were traveling for one night from Oxford to Roma or Napoli! I knew this place from past experiences, never been dissappointed, and know from now that they can accomodate without any problems big groups! Bravo!!!

Since the very first step at Bbuona, the staff greeted us in Italian, make us feel like at home in Italy.
We order a nice salumi chipboard with olives served with thin hot slices of pizza bread. All followed by two Pinsa! The pinsa dough was very light, tasty and delicious! They also organize a Pinsa Course on Saturdays where they will teach you how to try to make their great pinsa dough! Must be a great experience and will definitely join. At the end we had also two crispy cannoli siciliani with pistacchio granola freshly stuffed at the moment for us! Highly recommended! A must to try!

I was pleased to go back to BBuona when coming back from a holiday in Italy. The pizza and "parmigiana" tasted no different from the food I ate in Puglia just a few days earlier. I have to say, I have tried several pizza places in the UK, but in none of them I could taste the crunchy yet soft and savoury "pinsa" prepared, cooked and served at BBuona. The manager and staff are very friendly and will make sure you have the genuine Italian experience of eating your pizza and having a proper espresso in the heart of Oxford. This is the one and only pizza bar in Oxford!

Wow !!!! thanks so much to the brilliant team at Bbuona especially Jose who was an absolute pleasure to meet.
We visited for the first time and the food was Superb,
Delicious Italian ingredients the starter used mozzarella from Puglia and our Pizzas were amazing with Mozzarella from Campagna.
They really value your business and made us so welcome and they have authentic Italian drinks I had Chinotto and my husband had delicious apple juice....they really pay attention to detail and the gelato is Delicious too !!
We met one of the owners and it was great to hear how passionate he and his team are.
We loved it all !!
Keep up the fantastic work and see you next time!!

The brasserie serves amazingly authentic Italian food swiftly and with delicious food value wine . My mum left her mobile and we came back a lot later to see if we had left it and yes we had and they had kept it safe. Nice honest food and staff.

After having our Dinner at BBuona we understood why is the number 1 in Oxford.
when the chef was making the dough in front of us we were absolotuly delighted.
We had the BBuona and the 5cheeses and after the first bite we were amazed! Never had such a great pizza as the one in BBuona. Soft crunchy light oh gosh i can't explain the feeling.
we went to speak with the chef Sealim and it was a pleasure to listen the story , how he makes the dough and the different kind of flours that he used. As a gift he gaves us some of his flour and the recipe and he also explained how to use it. Really appreciate
we will be back 100%

Really wished I hadn’t gone there. Reviews said the food was great: I had a bruschetta which looked like the chef threw it together either to win a race or just because he was in a bad mood. Anyway our order for only 4 people was taken wrong twice. A starter for one person who didn’t want a main course was clearly requested to arrive with the other three pizza main dishes but they apologised as the one starter appeared straight away before the three pizzas were remotely ready. But then only two pizzas arrived. They apologised again for missing off the third pizza. All this while we sit outside on sad furniture with smokers all around us. Disaster.

Dear friendsjf, we are so sorry to read you are not happy with your experience at BBuona. Italian culture is a welcoming one and we apologize if you haven't felt it.
With regards to the orders, when you don't receive what you have ordered please tell us as you did. If we get confused it's our responsibility to sort it out immediately.
We are surprised about bruschetta. We generally cook from scratch and only using high premium quality, authentic and fresh ingredients - this may take longer so when the restaurant is busy the chef needs to be faster in order to serve all customers as quickly as possible, but always without compromising the taste and authenticity of the dish.
Regarding outdoor space, it's meant to be rustic, which is a part of who we are. We have only recently received authorization for outdoor seats, during lockdown when seating inside was not possible. We rushed to look for furniture but based on the feedback we are receiving (and thank you for pointing that out) they need improvements so we are already looking for other options.
For smoking, it is not forbidden outdoor so we cannot ask customers not to do so. But what we can surely do is to move you to another table or inside, next time please feel free to let us know and we will do our best to make you feel more comfortable.
Obviously, we hope to see you soon again and that we will be able to change your mind!

This place does the best pizza in Oxford, which is saying something given the choice available. The bases are perfect with a great range of toppings from spicy salami, to truffle with Italian sausage and the 4 cheeses. Just some of my favourites. The guys who work there are so lovely too. My wife had her birthday there and the staff pulled out all the stops adding the personal touch to make it even better. Chiara, Christian and Kevin deserve a lot of credit for the amazing attitude and sweetest smiles.

This was an absolute joke. I am shocked by the so good ratings of this place. First of all, you need to order on the counter and prepay for the food for what was meant to be a gourmet pizza. The place was severely understaffed. Then the prices were way too high for the quantity of what was offered and to some extent the quality. The toppings?? Another joke, tiny tiny samples of mushrooms and sausage!! The waiting time? They told me 10 minutes max, it tool them 40 minutes. I paid £20 for a piece of baked bread and a glass of table wine. Again, completely shocked by the popularity of this place! The only good side was the politeness of the staff apologizing to me and offering a free glass of wine which I kindly refused. Save your time and money and head to Franco Manca for ultra fast service, much better quality, quantity and without a shadow of a doubt much much better value for money.

Dear acaiLimassol, as a family business bad reviews like this hurt us a lot because bringing good quality food and amazing service to all our customers is our priority.
We are and we've always been a pizza bar. That means that you have to order at the till. We understand that sometimes it gets really busy during rush hours and we can't be quick. Not because we don't want to, but our Pinsas are really made with lots of care. All meats are cut fresh to order for every Pinsa which takes longer, unfortunately, but that means that we are offering you the freshest of ingredients.
We are extremely sorry that your experience in BBuona has not been as expected and we hope to see you again in the future. We're sure will change your mind.

Disappointing service, a lady without a mask sit inside and eaten and then ordered something and the members from here doesn't say nothing, the gay who makes pizza did not wear a mask. Pizza is expensive and not worth the money, it was burned on the edges, I asked for extra parma ham and it was bad in taste, old taste. Rocket salad was put like a pile of grass over that pizza, I couldn't eat, I paid £ 33.60 for something inedible, who's manager here doesn't know what's going on?I have a gluten allergy and I felt sick about it. Half the pizza plus the salad crowd remained on the table.In the picture you can see how I put the food in my mouth in the napkin, I don't have a picture of how pizza was burnt . I left hungry there, expensive price and you also go and order, it is not a service at the customer's table, I do not see this price exaggerated more es when the customer is in front of the door, has no conditions while it was raining

your review took us by surprise. As you can see from our previeus reviews, we put quite a lot of effort in high -quality raw ingredients selection, their processing, and finally the service. And we are very proud to see that this is noted and appreciated by our customers.
That said, anybody can make a mistake. This is why we have investigated everything you have mentioned in your review, so point by point:
PEOPLE WITHOUT A MASK: with regards to people inside the restaurant eating and without a mask, we have security cameras so we can assure you that no one was eating inside and no one was without a mask
GLUTEN-FREE: our gluten-free products are truly gluten-free and we process them separately from the others to avoid any sort of contamination, in fact, we haven’t had any issue with any gluten-free customer so far. We are very sorry if you have been sick, but we doubt it’s related to a not truly gluten-free dough.
BURNET EDGES: as you said, from the picture that you have shared we don’t see any burnt edge. Anyway, if you will be our guests again and it happens that you get a burnt Pinsa, please we strongly invite you to let us know and send it back. If it’s burnet and by accident, we haven’t noticed it (often thankfully the kitchen is very busy) we will apologize and be more than happy to cook another one for you.
PARMA HAM: Parma Ham that we offer in our dishes comes directly from Parma, we are used to sourcing it from a local artisan that we have known for a long time. Please keep in mind it is cured meat with a distinctive taste.
SERVICE: Customers generally choose what they want (we have QR code on tables or disposable paper menus – which we have offered you as well), come to order and then we bring Pinsa to the table. It’s always been like that since we are a Pinsa Bar: we like customers to come at the counter, say “hi” and have a chat while we take the order (we, Italians, like to chat a lot!).
RAIN: finally wrt to the weather, believe us when we say that we have not been happy with recent rain and cold, especially considering that we were allowed to have outdoor seating only. Thankfully now customers can sit inside as well (obviously indoor space is organized in compliance with all safety and health regulations to guarantee social distancing).
That said, we would be happy to have you both back at BBuona Pinsa Bar, sure you will fully appreciate our truly welcoming spirit and authentic Pinsa Romana!

I've been coming here for coffee and lunch since I moved to Oxford and am always delighted with the bustling atmosphere and polite, friendly service. Jose in particular is always does his utmost to make me, my friends and family feel welcome and never misses a beat when we need something. The food itself is delicious - my favourite pizza in Oxford - but even if I'm not hungry Bbuona is one of my favourite places to hang out and have a coffee.

Amazing! We received excellent service and the pizza was delicious. Great vegetarian and vegan options - although there's no vegan cheese they make up for it with delicious toppings so you don't miss it!
The service from Jose was excpetional - he catered to our every need and made us feel at home. When we asked if we could sit outside he even made the gesture to get another table inside and put it outside so that we could sit in the sun. It had a very intimate and familial vibe, and it's a great place to go for couples. Very happy with the way he made my partner and I feel. It made it very special.
My only constructive criticism would be that Bbuona should offer table service, because that's essentially what they already offer with the warm and Mediterranean style of waiter service, but you just have to go and make the physical order yourself after discussing it with the waiter.
Would highly recommend!!

Great pizza and friendly service. Authentic Italian ingredients, high quality, fresh and flavorful (tomato sauce tastes home-made, burrata is soft and melts in the mouth, juicy Parma ham, olives, flavourful artichokes...) Always generous toppings. They also make fantastic gluten-free pizza.
All staff are very friendly and welcoming. Our waiter José was very friendly and fast and remembered us next time we were visiting, which always makes a difference, feels like visiting a good friend, not just a restaurant.

Great atmosphere. We ordered Bruschetta as a starter which was lovely but there was lots of it and the pizza was fantastic, we had a Salami and Salsiccia. Jose was a great host and was able to recommend a nice red wine. The coffee and complimentary pastry was to die for. It was busy so I’d recommend booking at peak times and Chiara and Diogo were working very hard in the kitchen area to make sure the food was delivered on time. I’d highly recommend a visit and we’ll be back next time we visit Oxford.

We ate as a family here today and were so impressed. The delicious smells hit you as you approach the door and we were warmly greeted when we entered.
The four pizzas we ordered arrived quickly and all were delicious, cheaper and much nicer than any of the nearby chain restaurants.
We will definitely be back and look forward to working our way through the menu!
