Our son was very keen on celebrating his graduation in this restaurant because of his previous positive experience. It is a lovely, welcoming place with attentive staff who worked very hard when we visited. Shiraz is the only Persian restaurant in Oxford. It has been revamped by the new owner, Masoud, and is now nicely decorated and served a wide selection of Persian dishes: -of course the traditional chelokababs : grilled skewers with saffron basmati rice (my favorite is...« Darbari »), but also a range of stews (Ghormeh Sabzi, Gheymeh,..). I have tried a lot of items and everything was really tasty. Among the starters: the Kashk Bademjan (smoked aubergine with nuts and mint and kashk) is a must. We hosted our daughter's friends to celebrate her graduation at Shiraz. They gave us our table of 8 on time and very thoughtfully placed. The food here is authentic, very generous portion ( excellent for young students), moderately spiced . We tried the chelli kebabs,...joje kebabs and a lamb and yellow pea stew - all delicious. Finished our dinner with warm and flavourful Persian tea...they served us some interesting starters and an extra pot of tea on the house. Very hospitable staff...took care of all our requests. Special mention of Mr. Bilal and two lovely ladies who were very gracious hosts ..they made our dinner perfect in all ways. Tip: a portion can be easily shared by two or students could eat some and pack some happily.More

We ordered a takeaway, based upon the great reviews, and were most definitely NOT disappointed!! The saffron/lemon marinated chicken kebab was delicious, and the lamb shank with the dill/broad bean rice was utterly breathtaking! This is Persian food at it's best! The delivery was packed...well, and came nice and hot. There was also quite a lot of leftovers which we enjoyed the next day!More

Very tasty food, well presented and good portions. We had the three starter selection, a delicious aubergine thing, vine leaves and very tasty if slightly unusual olives (lots of them) plus some bread which was warm and fresh. Then the seafood grill for two, which...gave us some nicely prepared and juicy prawns, plus some fish, with rice and salad. Desserts looked good, but we couldn't quite manage one. Restaurant was busy on a Thursday, and I can see why. Yum.More

I had lunch with a friend and it was a lively experience. The starters were especially good. The waiters - very attentive. In my opinion the menu could do with a few more vegetarian dishes

Really loved the atamosphere - really clean and modern. Food was amazing (I recommend the boneless chicken kebab) - they coped with the large volume of orders that me and my friends put in really well. This was second time I have organised my football team's end of season meal at Shiraz and it was even better than the first. The food was absolutely delicious and with such a large variety, there was something for everyone. The staff were amazing, so...friendly and eager to help and the atmosphere was brilliant. There is no doubt that we will be returning to this restaurant very soon and I will be recommending it to anyone who is willing to hear! It really is the perfect restaurant for all occasions.More
