Having walked around the streets of Oxford for a couple of hours we found this Pub hidden away down an alley off Holywell Street. Food choices are old fashioned but include a couple of vegetarian alternatives (macaroni cheese) plus the Falafel with sweet potato and...More

Never eaten here but have spent many summer nights. Can get a bit busy and noisy with students in term time. Bar smells bad.

Good selection of drinks, good food. Seating both indoors and outdoors. Often pretty rammed at popular times so have something in mind incase you can't get seated!

We met a friend of ours who is teaching at Oxford at the Turf Tavern. Sat outside and drank great beer all afternoon. Food was quite good as well. Great venue, very historic.

Visited here while touring Oxford University with our Teens. Loved the food, atmosphere, and people watching. Everything was delicious and we ended up visiting here more than once during our stay.

This is a traditional spot in town for staff and students of the University, and tourists too. Very close to landmarks like the Bodleian Library. Serves delicious, local ales and periodically offers taste nights and is always a great place to learn about British 'beers'...More

Ok to see this place for its history, luckily it was nice weather so sat outside, small quaint pub down an alleyway. Prices as all pubs in the area we found to be a bit expensive. Glad we went but wouldn't do a return visit...More
