Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Are here this Saturday night for my wife’s birthday. She’s vegetarian and my son and I aren’t, but the mixture of dishes that lean towards vegetarian were outstanding. Such a lovely place, beautifully kind and welcoming. Every dish was excellent, so much flavour and complimented...by a pot of spicy tea. I can’t recommend here enough and we will definitely be back. Hidden gem in the heart of Oxford.More

Incredible Ethiopian cuisine. Casual but very well presented and awesome. Great service, too. Recommend the lamb combination.

Turned up as a walk-in around 7, expecting the place to be half full. It was, but every other table was reserved. So, Lula (for I suppose it was she) asked a colleague to put out another table for me and gave me a menu...to read meanwhile. If I were a long-standing regular customer, I might expect thsi, but as a first-timer, I was bowled over. now, I'm no expert on Ethiopian/Eritrean cuisine; I am an expert on what I like, and I certainly like this! There's lamb, chicken and vegan, served with rice and/or inerja - a flatbread made with exotic grains that closely resembles a darker version of a Derbyshire/Staffordshire oatcake. The food is spicy without being overpowering - lots of pulses, rather like dahl. The staff are genuinely friendly and attentive. I would go there a lot if I lived nearer.More

Delicious meal and such friendly welcoming staff. We’d been looking for something a little different that was also vegetarian “friendly” and Lula’s fitted the bill perfectly. Ethiopian beer was great as a bonus! We’ll definitely be back.

My new favourite restaurant in Oxford! The food was delicious, the atmosphere was beautiful and the service was superb. I went with my partner and our two year old son, and even with a fussy, noisy toddler in tow, the waiting staff were friendly and...attentive. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for good food and a great dining experience.More
