We decided to eat in rather than get a take away. It's very basic inside (but it's primarily a take away and delivery restaurant) with no licence for selling alcohol. The staff are very professional, very polite and made us feel extremely welcome. The food was absolutely superb and I'd definitely recommend it!

They have a 20% discount for NHS staff and key workers prominently displayed on their website. We decided to take advantage of this and placed an order for collection, as it says "on ALL collection orders".
They wouldn't honour it. For the sake of £6 they have lost themselves two stars on this review. Apparently "on ALL collection orders" actually means "but not orders placed for collection on the website". No indication of that T&C anywhere.
We order from here regularly but will now be rethinking. The korai is excellent, but absolutely not worth "we're going to make you guess how to get this discount" behaviour.
NB a note was put on the order about the NHS discount; so they could have contacted us to explain instead of refusing. We would have cancelled the online order if we'd known that.

Went to Oxford with my wife and 2 children. After a long day we went for a meal at this place ordered chicken Jalfrezi and Lamb dupiaza for our main dishes. The children had chicken nuggets and chips. The restaurant wasn’t huge but can accommodate parties if required when we are allowed due to COVID. The meal was good atmosphere was pleasant. Would recommend people to try out this place sometime.

These guys pretended to be open on Christmas day via Deliveroo and then pretended to deliver food to my door.
They were totally unreachable via phone or any other method. Worst is gave them an extra £5, having felt sorry for restaurants in general during these tough times.
What a shame or shall I say sham.

I have been using CAFE SPICE for around 20 years, and I love it. I usually only order a takeaway when a friend is visiting, but since Covid restrictions, I now go up and collect my meal. I just wanted to say how gorgeous their food is, and I especially love their Taka Dahl with extra garlic! You can pay by card or cash, and i have never found the service unfriendly. I would eat in the restaurant, but they don't serve wine - so other than that - they are THE BEST!! - Julia in Oxford City Centre.

Ordered a takeaway from here as it got very good reviews. Got the chicken mirch masala with garlic rice and a garlic naan bread. The food itself was OK, though nothing special, but I might have given it another chance if I hadn’t found THREE black hairs in the curry. With it being a takeaway there is nothing I could do about it. Won’t be ordering from them again.

If you love Indian food, this place is perfect for you, the food quality is excellent and very affordable not to mention excellent service to go with it, altogether a very pleasant experience.

Todays offering was awful the usually tender chicken was tough and inedible
The rice tasted like washing up liquid
Most of it went in the bin

Ordered a delivery on saturday night, everything was nice and fresh - salad , onions, poppadums, chicken tikka, samosas - very impressed! Nothing oiley, nothing dry and burnt and everything i ordered - I got!!! Good portion size on the tikka too! Thank you!

Cafe Spice is excellent, food is always hot in temperature and very well spiced, great complexity and chili eat if you order it :) very good value, 2 large dishes, a biryani a starter and a side for £20-£25 and they throw in a free Bombay aloo , we always have enough left over for delicious curry sandwiches the next day - great value for 4 meals!

Always order from here to work and usually nice. Tonight wasn’t - bland madras with barely any heat, tasted like things were missing and dry tasteless mushroom rice. Very disappointing.

Ordered a takeaway new years eve obviously expected a delay arrived nearly 2 hours later which is fully expectEd and understandable
When it's arrived the santa korma instead of a madras so had no dinner and a waste of money
Asked for the rogan with no onion was full of onion
And absolutely now way to contact them as phone isn't being answered

Cafe spice is, in my opinion the best curry house in England
A bold statement, but at the age of 56 I have had a so many Indian meals in oh so many different places from Lands End to Edinburgh I am confident to say that this place is fantastic
For 20 years this restaurant has been consistently delivering superb authentic Indian and Bangladeshi food

Staying at a nearby hotel, I ordered through Just Eat. The food arrived 10 minutes early and was frankly delicious. The Chicken Pathia was perfectly spiced, not at all greasy, and piping hot. The Onion Bhaji was crisp, again not oily, and very fresh. Finally the chilli naan, which I ordered well done came exactly as I wanted it. I will order again next time I am 8n Oxford.
