We hadn’t visited in a few years since several changes of hands, but we visited for lunch spontaneously. The food was amazing, so good we had to sample puddings as well! Already looking forward to a repeat visit.

What can I say, I used to live near here for about 7 years & never actually visited. I can now say what a shame. We went to tonight in an off-chance off getting a table it was only 1830 so chances where high. We...got our table an was impressed by the souroudings in the pub. Come to ordering food, we took forever, hadvsom bread with garlic and olive's before we finally decided, after the 3rd time the waitress asked was we ready to order, poor girl bit was so professional, nothing was no problem. The food was outstanding.More

we stopped going here a couple of years back after a couple of distinctly mediocre meals: thought we'd give it another chance and very glad we did. Great service, fairly simple menu done very well made for a top notch dining experience. Not cheap, but...still good value for this quality. All present agreed that the brownie with peanut butter is the best brownie ever!More

We were celebrating a triple birthday and chose the Spring Inn as we have been many times before pre-covid from large celebrations in the private room upstairs to smaller gatherings in the main restaurant. I was surprised to see 'booths' downstairs presumably to cope with...'Social Distancing' of old and we were greeted by a rather curt member of staff and shown to a 'booth'. I was a little mortifed having been used to the usually high standards of this restaurant by the bench style seating with a filthy seat pad which looked like it had been used to clean the floor. I cleaned off residue food and crumbs before I sat on it. The table was wooden and was soooo sticky my cloth napkin was actually stuck to the table! Short of asking for them to hoover the seating and clean the tables, it wasn't a great start and raised my attention to how things had changed over the last couple of years. I was not asked if anyone had any allergies, which one of us did, so had to bring this to the attention of our waitress. Speaking of which this waitress had the subtleness of a brick and clearly had had a very busy day. She was abrupt, curt and put my heckles up... the manner in which she interrupted conversation was unacceptable. I do not know what happened during the course of the evening, whether other guests had complained .. which I was fast approaching doing myself, when she came over and apologised for being curt and that her day had been extremely busy. We accepted her apology and we are nice enough people to know that people have bad days. Needless to say she was forgiven and the evening got better as it went on. Re the food, it was ok but nothing like how I remember The Spring Inn serving and pricey for the quality. I would like to say that I would return, but unless the cleanliness is addressed, I'm afraid it won't be any time soon. There are far better eateries in the area now .. Spring Inn need to up their game and make some improvements.More

Visited a few times while staying near Reading. Food and service was always great. Was able to sit and relax…not rushed. Cheesecake was delicious! Casual atmosphere and always busy. We will return!

Due to time restraints we needed to see relatives who live in Bath without driving all the way to Bath! The Spring Inn proved the perfect mid-way point between SW London and Bath to meet for a pub lunch. Just off the M4 it was...easy for both parties. We wouldn’t have minded a “so-so” meal as location was our main priority - but that’s not what we got. The food was EXCELLENT and the service very good. Would definitely go there again!More

Food was absolutely delicious with something for everyone from a varied menu. I had the Ox cheek and my friends had the Salmon & the Pork. The 2 waitresses were so friendly, polite and helpful all evening. The decor in the restaurant is lovely and...welcoming. I was really tempted to have one of the lovely desserts however very full up, perhaps a mini dessert on the menu might be an option for future guests? I haven't been to the Spring Inn for years I will definitely be back.More

One for the establishment to answer, I'd think the enquirer would be better served by contacting the establishment direct.
