This restaurant never disappoints.

This restaurant never disappoints. Over the years we have been going the food is consistently excellent and last night was no exception. Uncharacteristically the wait between starter and main was longer than normal but this may be due to the influx of customers that arrived all at the same time for the sitting. Staff are great and food delicious. Thank you as always to Ossi and the team.

Quattro is open for take-away!

I was so pleased to get an email from Isan and Ossi that Quattro was opening for take-away. I've missed our regular visits since the lockdown closed all public spaces and restaurants. You can place orders by email, phone, or through Deliveroo. I recommend to plan ahead and get your order in early to avoid disappointment. They are open for business Wednesday to Sunday. Check out the website. It was a treat and a taste of normality to pick up some pizzas for the whole family. Quattro are doing a fantastic job handling a big volume of orders and maintaining their delicious high standards. While the menu is slightly reduced, understandably, the our old favourites are still available along with pasta dishes, salads, and deserts. While I was there, I also picked up some coffee beans and a couple bottles of wine. Well done to Isan, Ossi, and everyone at Quattro.

Good value and very friendly

We have been going to Quattro for more than twenty years now. Ossi and Isan are always so very welcoming, the atmosphere is lovely and the authentic Italian food first class and extremely reasonably priced. They have kept going throughout lockdown with a good takeaway service but it's so super to be ale to go back into the restaurant for a 'proper' meal.

Poor Service, Awful Environment, Great Food

When I first arrived at Quattro my first impression was it was extremely cramped and loud. Not the type of place you want to go socially as you find yourself shouting so people can actually hear you. There’s little space to move as tables are so closely set up together. To the point where you are sat so close it feels like you are involved in other tables conversations. Not only this but waitresses kept dropping plates and glasses. It makes for a very uncomfortable and unrelaxing meal. Alongside this, staff were miserable and it took 30minutes for them to come over and acknowledge us to order. Staff were poorly managed and were unorganised. Service with a smile definitely does not apply to this place! Throughout the entirety of our meal no staff came to check on us or to see if we wanted any more drinks or if our meals were okay. I was thoroughly disappointed with the service. On the upside the food was lovely. Portion sizes for pasta are quite small if you have a big appetite. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant unless you were going to eat alone as it is no place suitable for friends, family or business occasions.

Run of the mill italian in non-child friendly locale

After moving into the neighborhood, we decided to try this restaurant, given its good reviews. On a non-particularly busy weekend afternoon, we felt rushed and generally stressed to be in the restaurant with our two kids. It is a difficult situation given that the physical space the restaurant occupies is small, but this is not an ideal location to go with children who do not sit perfectly still. We tried a few different pasta and pizza dishes and found them to be ok, but not great (for comparable offers in reading), and it was difficult to grab the attention of the service staff. The prices for pasta and pizza were ok, and while their specials looked interesting, the prices for these were prohibitive. Given the alternatives, it looks unlikely that we will return.

Pasta Disaster

This restaurant was easy to book online and is located an easy walk over the River Thames from the Crowne Plaza hotel. We both had small portions of pasta. My partners was a salmon tagliatelle and I had spinach and ricotta ravioli. My partners dish was tasteless and the ravioli was overpowered by an unpleasant sauce. The service was polite and efficient.

Belated birthday dinner

My friend treated me to dinner here at the weekend for my birthday which was back in lockdown. The service was amazing as was the food. I had calves livers in a sage butter and it was delicious. It was like cutting butter and cooked to perfection. A dish I would recommend especially if you haven’t tried liver before. The vegetables were cooked just right and hot! The creme brûlée was ob3 if the best I’ve ever had and I had pudding envy at my friends tiramisu.... well worth a visit and I will return.

Anniversary meal

Went to this restaurant for our 7th anniversary meal and although the food was really good the customer service was pretty poor. On arrival we were told to sit anywhere you like by the rather dismissive manager. We had written on the booking form that it was a special occasion but we were virtually ignored by the manager who concentrated on chatting to people he knew. My partner, Angie, has trouble with her hands and her pizza, arrived uncut and despite attempts to gain attention no one came and asked whether our meals were OK. In the end I had to cut in to slices. I made a bit of a mess of it but at least it was edible!!! Also a mix up with the Affogato desert as waitress thought we just wanted the shots even though we were pointing at the desert, so had a good 20 minute wait until we sorted it out. Overall it just wasn't a pleasant experience and although we had a complimentary shot at the end, it was not how our special occasion should have turned out. I'd say to the manager :It takes more than good food to make a great restaurant!!!

Amazing Food & excellent service

Been coming to Quattro’s with my family for over 20 years for our special occasions (even had our engagement celebration here) never had a bad meal. The food has always been of the top standard & highest quality. The service has always been 10/10 I can not recommend this restaurant enough

Amazing Pizzas

Enjoyed an evening at Quattro yesterday, our first visit. It was really enjoyable, all 4 of us had pizzas for mains which were exceptional, really tasty. We also had the anti pasta which were also really good, I had the very interesting and well presented. avocado, prawns and crab . Service through out was friendly and efficient and very welcoming to families of every age from what we could see! Reasonably priced as well - I am sure we will be back!

Well-attended restaurant.

Due to Lockdown, we hadn't visited this restaurant for several months. Having ascertained that Quattro had reopened, we booked a table and, at the appointed time, entered the restaurant, and were delighted to see how many people were already enjoying their meals. During our meal, more people arrived and took their places at the, now, more widely spaced tables. The food, as always, was excellent. An experience like that, always lifts the spirits.

Family Meal

Visited on a Sunday evening for a family meal and we left very satisfied. We had mixture of mains - fillet steak, sea bass and pasta, all everybody really enjoyed their meal. I hadn’t been here for a long time and was always put off by what I thought was a poor selection of mains. I have now changed my mind and will definitely be back.

We choose Quattro for our first meal out after lockdown and enjoyed a delicious lunch with a super bottle of their house wine As good as always and it's a delight to be back. Thank you Ossi, Isan and the team... we'll be back again soon.

Now overpriced

Up until our last visit, we rated Quattro very highly. Unfortunately, we can no longer do so. We wanted a cheap dinner, so both had pizzas. Mine (Inferno) was excellent, my wife's (Margarita with ham) was average. My wife had a glass of wine, I had diet coke and also an espresso. The total bill was £34.80, but a 12.5% service charge was also added on (this is new to us from our last visit). This added £4.35 to the bill, making a total of £39.15.+ No longer a cheap alternative! I appreciate the drinks (especially the wine) made up a substantial extra cost (£11.50 plus service charge). However, the service charge itself is sneaky. It's included in the bill when you pay it. It was not until we got home and I looked carefully at the receipt that we saw the little note at the bottom "A discretionary service charge of 12.5% will be added to your bill". It's only discretionary if you notice it before you pay the amount shown on the bill (£39.15). I would normally add 10% if service was exceptional, but would very rarely add 12.5%. We shall not be returning to Quattro.

Little gem of Caversham

We had a pizza and pasta with salmon in creamy, garlic sauce (starter size). The starter was big enough for me, very tasty. Pizza was baked to perfection. We followed it by ice cream sunk in espresso shot that was divine. Staff was very attentive and very polite. Nice ambience and atmosphere. We will definitely be back. Thank you Quattro.
