Outstanding in every respect from arrival welcome to concluding offer of take away of our remains
Decor inside so authentic and new planters outside way above the norm
Even the cutlery was of authentic Indian origin
Service attentive but never overpowering or intrusive
AND SO TO THE MAIN EVENT
THE FOOD
nowhere near your average curry house fare where sometimes you play a game of hide and seek in an attempt to find the meat in thick sauce
Have a look at the website for menu’s with accompanying top class photographs not your usual fare but all of that is also catered for with a twist. Have you ever seen whisky as an ingredient in your dish which is also presented with colourful edible flowers. I have now and it was stunning.
Street food options would encourage a group of four to use them as starters before a stunning mains and accompanied mixed bread basket but beware you will be carrying home the take away remains
Even the normal rice is enhanced such as the lemon rice which includes tiny dried curry leaves
All together an instant attack on your tastebuds
And so to the cost , not expensive and certainly much less than would be experienced in town and city centres. Also look out for the various special offers such as early bird deals etc
Always a good sign to see fellow diners being Asian couples and families including beside us a large table populated by an infant to a grandparent, All so charming and well behaved even the grandparents
Our first visit but certainly not our last
Our first

This was my first visit (but definitely not last) to The Coriander Club, my friend had visited once before and recommended we go since I had been dying to try it. The food and service was top notch. We had the mini poppadoms with dips for starter which were so cute and yummy, I had the Punjabi Prawn Curry for main which was delicious (although I'm a korma girl and this was a little too spicy for me however still so tasty), my friend had the Murgh Kali Mirch and that looked delicious too, we shared a rice and a garlic naan which were also cooked to perfection. My friend had a gin and tonic to drink and I had a Strawberry Martini & a Lychee Martini (my favourite cocktail) which were both perfection. For puddings, I had the chocolate melted pudding which was beautifully presented and not too sickly, my friend had the mango yoghurt on a stick and she said it was very good. The only downside for me was the toilet facility, there is only one loo behind a curtain and trust me to pick the time that a man was in there for a long time so it was quite a wait. Other than that it's perfect and we can't wait to go back soon.

Thank you so much for your detailed and wonderful review Georgeep88! We're so pleased to hear that you enjoyed your first visit to The Coriander Club and that your friend recommended us. It's great to know you loved our food, especially the mini poppadoms, Punjabi Prawn Curry, and cocktails, you have great taste and those are some of our most popular dishes.
In regards to the toilet we are limited on space which we know can present a few challenges but in time we hope these are changed and improved. We appreciate your understanding!
Lastly we are so delighted that you both had a memorable dining experience and we can't wait to welcome you back soon to The Coriander Club!

This was my first visit to the delightfully intimate coriander club. From the moment you step into the restaurant you are greeted with warmth and smiles. The staff are attentive, kind and nothing is too much trouble. The decor allows you to escape to another place and relax into your evening. To start with we had a basket of mini poppadoms with a selection of delicious chutneys. Tomato was our favourite. I then chose the onion bhajis to start which were equally as tasty. The portion is definitely a sharing starter as there were 4 on the plate. We then went onto the mains. My friend is vegetarian so chose the birani which she really enjoyed. I had the chicken murgh masala, accompanied by pilau rice and a lachlan paratha. Washed down by a white wine spritzer which was also a treat. Oh my goodness my taste buds were tingling with this tantalising delight. I couldn't leave any, I had to eat it all. We were too full to have a dessert although they looked and sounded equally as scrumptious. So to satisfy our sweet craving we opted for a hot chocolate, with coffee and cardamon. This hit the spot!
The prices are very reasonable, especially for such a high caliber of cuisine. I would definitely recommend this restaurant, you have to try it. I cannot wait to go back and sample more dishes.

On the outskirts of Reading lies this curiosity. Only having opened in December 2023, Coriander Club is fast building itself an enviable reputation for fantastic Punjabi food.
I took my mother there for lunch. We had the seekh kebab and yoghurt bomb starters, and chicken biryani and dhaba chicken masala (requested off the bone) with garlic naans for mains.
The food was so fresh and tasty, full of flavour.
We were full and contented, yet forced ourselves to have a kulfi for dessert!
An excellent addition to Reading. We will be back.

The fact that you forced yourselves to indulge in a kulfi for dessert despite being full is truly heartwarming! We appreciate your kind words and are thrilled to be considered an excellent addition to Reading.

First visit last night after reading an online review by Edible Reading.
And he was spot on. It’s quite different to other standard Indian restaurants. Think Clays in Caversham but without the eye watering prices.
Service was friendly and excellent throughout and Kingfisher and Bombay IPA on draught.
The Yoghurt Bomb starters were the best starters any of us could remember having anywhere. Fantastic and we would have been happy to just have had a load of these and gone home happy.
Mains included chicken on the bone which was a very nice change and plenty of stuff we’d never heard of before so we went with a mix of the staff recommendations and all were excellent.
All four of us would highly recommend this restaurant which also has parking outside.

I recently visited The Coriander Club Indian restaurant with my husband and a couple of friends and what a lovely little gem this restaurant is.
We started with the mini poppadom's, which were crispy, light, and perfectly seasoned, served with a variety of delicious chutneys.
We ordered a mixture of dishes: Chicken Tikka, which was absolutely delicious. Tender, perfectly spiced, and grilled to perfection. It had just the right amount of smokiness, and the marinade was perfect. Tandoori Chicken, which was equally impressive. Juicy, slightly charred on the outside and with plenty of flavour. Chicken Karahi, which had a rich, aromatic sauce and tender chicken pieces. We had sides of pilau rice and bombay potatoes. The potatoes were soft and fluffy and infused with the perfect blend of spices.
Our friends had Tandoori chicken, Chicken Biryani, saag aloo & keema naan bread. They said it was one of the best Indian meals they have had.
Every dish was delicious, with great presentation. The service was friendly and attentive. If you’re looking for a place that serves amazing Indian food, this is the place.

What a lovely family run business. I tend to find that these types of businesses tend to reflect the values of the way the business is run. They complement eachother perfectly. Food was amazing, freshly cooked and they were so pleased to tell me about the dish and it's history for them and why it's on the menu. Every dish has a story to tell...

If you are looking for authentic Indian food that is really well cooked using quality ingredients by attentive friendly staff then this is definitely the place to go.
The menu is refreshingly varied from the norm but owner Simi is there to guide you through.
Not the biggest restaurant but that adds to the homely feel. Probably best to book to avoid disappointment
We will be back

A wonderful restaurant, the customer service from the owner and the staff the moment you step inside the door to leave is exceptional. The food looks amazing and tastes delicious. The lamb chops were really tasty and melted in the mouth, the sauces to die for. The Coriander Club is certainly going to be a regular for us, authentic food cooked to perfection.

What a fantastic experience, the food was amazing, the service fantastic and the atmosphere was perfect. The street food 'starters' were some of the best dishes I've had, and the authentic Punjabi mains were bursting with flavour. We will be going back, it was busy, so worth booking.

Wow, what fantastic food! So different from your ‘run of the mill’ restaurants. Every dish we tried had such beautiful flavours. The starters/street food were delicious; we all thought the samosa chaat was particularly good. The mains were incredible. Our favourite was the coriander club special chicken, which had such depth of flavour, closely followed by the lamb biryani and the butter chicken. It would be wrong not to mention the makhani daal - the perfect side that complements every dish. Lovely, attentive serving staff made our experience even better. We can’t wait to come back to try the rest of the menu!

We had a takeaway from The Coriander Club last weekend. It was one of the best Indian meals we’ve had. We had yogurt bombs and a potato starter…both different and absolutely Delicious. My husband then had chicken sag and I had lamb chefs special. Loads of lovely tender meat in both, flavoursome sauces and delicious pilau rice.
The whole meal was absolutely lush - just need a baby sitter so we can in next time! Totally recommend the food from Coriander Club!

I stayed locally but searched to see if there were any good Indian restaurants nearby. This appears to he a new one in the area but had superb reviews. Sunday evening, and I ordered onion bhaji, which were some of the nicest I've had in a long time. Then it was a favourite of mine, the Rogan Josh with lamb. Just wow, the lamb was succulent and no fat and melted in the mouth. The sauce was to die for and had just the right amount of heat. Excellent and friendly service, and although only a small restaurant, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend and make sure you book! Having travelled the UK and visited award winning restaurants as nominated in the curry Oscars, this was right up there with them and won't be long before they will be in contention for recognition. Thanks, guys, and I be back very soon.

Our second visit here and we were served by the delightful Simran.
We had the yoghurt bombs, seekh kebab and vegetable samosas for starters. The Coriander Club Chicken (x2) and Chicken Kadhai for mains.
The food was fantastic. My fiancée who is not a massive samosa fan thought these ones were amazing.
Portion size was good, naan breads delicious - such a nice meal with great service.
My only gripe is the soft drinks. It's about £3.50 or thereabouts for a 200ml bottle of coke. Now I like a good drink with my meal so I had 3 Cokes which basically means a pint of Coca Cola is costing around £10 - not good.
It was still overall a lovely afternoon out though, with wonderful food.
