Nice and comfortable restaurant with friendly staff. I was expecting to see a more unusual menu as Nepalese but the usual Indian dishes. Good food and good value but would have liked a little quirky.

I've been eating at 'The Standard' for almost 30 years. Yesterday's Sunday buffet was as good as the first meal I ate there Is that enough of a recommendation?

Came down here in 1990 and this was one of the first curry places we went to and it hasn't changed a bit. Solid curry, very friendly service and a good dollop of nostalgia- can't go wrong.

My self being a Nepalese, I love Nepalese food. I have been to many Nepalese restaurants but never like this one. The food to be honest is one best I have tasted so far, along with that the customer service is great too. The restaurant it's self is one of the oldest Nepalese restaurant around. The environment inside is really... More

The best India food I have had in along time. As I eat in Indian restaurant at least once a week that is high praise indeed. Both starter and main course fantastic 5* can't praise enough.

My first trip to The Standard was about 30 years ago. Every couple of years I visit again for some occasion or other. The food and service remain consistently good - you can't beat a good curry.

This restaurant has been around literally longer than I have. Great food, and hospitality sums up the Nepalese community in reading! Be sure to try the buffet on a Sunday

This was the second time visiting Reading and eating at the Standard Tandoori. Both times the food was excellent. Beware of the time ... both visits, we were in the restaurant for more than two hours, but it is definitely worth the wait.

Thank Greg S
