Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Delicious meal with family at this lovely Gastro pub. Every member of our group of seven enjoyed their meal, each having three courses. We were warmly welcomed and the food was beautifully cooked and presented. Service was impeccable and we felt well looked after. Highly...recommend it - well done and thank you to all the staff!More

Had a fantastic roast here recently, certainly one of the best I have ever had. Such a lovely atmosphere with welcoming service as well as a great wine selection. I would highly recommend to all. Thanks Richie and Sarah, we will be back!

Love this restaurant and we have never had a poor meal. Chicken burger and bao buns today and both scrumptious. Can’t wait to come back for great food and excellent service.

Always had excellent food and service at the Bladebone. Hence went there for Mothering Sunday and we had roast - beef and chicken. The roast chicken was extremely tender and the roast potatoes were very tasty. For dessert we had white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake,...which was very light and delicious. Will we go back, of course we will...More

Lovely setting and very good service . However I agree with another review on here that the portion sizes for vegetables are ridiculously small. We were told that two small bowls were sufficient for three. Each bowl held two small spoonfuls .. so we all...had dessert spoonful of vegetables each. My pork had a lot of fat on it but that’s just luck of the draw I guess. Also we were not given any apple sauce that it says on the menu comes with it. Shame because as I said earlier the setting and service was great.. hence the 4 star rating. Don’t scrimp on your vegetables!More

I visited here on the 15th of Feb with a few of my work colleagues. At first the atmosphere seemed amazing and the staff were very ‘on the ball’ with us. However, when I originally googled Bladebone I was extremely shocked to find a lot...of Gluten Free on the menu (I am a Coeliac of 10 years). When ordering, I let the waitress know that I am gluten free to which I was told the starter I had ordered (stated Gluten Free on the menu) actually contained wheat. The waitress advised that I could eat this ‘Gluten Free’ dish if I could handle the wheat in the starter. Secondly, the dessert ‘Rhubarb creme brûlée and double chocolate cookie’ was also stated as Gluten Free. When the dish was brought out it had no cookie. I was not informed when ordering that the cookie wasn’t actually Gluten Free and that it would not be coming with the Creme Brûlée. As well as this, they got my friends order wrong note once but TWICE and she was made to wait 10+ minutes for them to resolve the error. The food was brilliant (the actual Gluten Free I could actually eat) and the staff were very apologetic for my friends mess up. I just feel that the Gluten Free stuff is false advertising and actually very dangerous for those who don’t ask further questions when ordering Gluten Free and could lead to them becoming severely poorly.More

We have been a few times here and the food never disappoints! We actually came here after booking another local pub and changed our mind. Without a booking the staff accommodated us still and we sat at the bar and chatted to a number of...staff, all of whom spoke passionately about the menu. The chef then came out and talked at length and with passion about many dishes. We went for 4 taster starters that were perfect! Then a three course menu for 25 quid! Bargain!!! Great mushroom soup! Great fish and chips and great sticky toffee pudding. My wife had an amazing seafood dish! Perfect from start to end!More

Lovely environment, we dined in the conservatory area which is quieter than 'inside' the pub itself. For Sunday lunch, this is a great place. The roast, which all four of us opted for, although slightly pricier than the pubs around at £20 was sublime. Really...good and as we requested, delightfully rare. The roast potatoes were good, fluffy and crispy. The vegetables were however somewhat sparse for my and my husband's taste, a dish of cabbage, a couple of small leeks and a couple of pieces of carrot plus a small container of swede - although the other couple said they were sufficient. We also asked for additional gravy - very good indeed and some more vegetables. I was horrified to find that we'd been charged a further £5, which we felt was really over the top and we should not have had to pay for more when the original portion was so minimal. Afraid it rather soured the after-taste. We didn't mention it in deference to our friends. In comparison, the Fox at Peasemore serves a really good amount of well cooked vegetables. We didn't have to ask for more there. This is a competitive marketplace but obviously with 2 full sittings, this pub is completely full on a Sunday. Well done them in what has been a difficult environment - we are happy to support local pubs, but it doesn't mean that we simply remain stumm and don't express how we feel about the experience.More

This is one of the best country pubs/gastro pubs in the area and one of the best we’ve been to for a long time. It scores very highly on food, service & ambiance. They get the big and little things just right; they did make...two small mistakes & responded perfectly. We’d have no hesitation to recommending this to families, couples or any combination; young & old. Sarah, the manager, is outstanding.More

Absolutely stunning experience. We went to celebrate a friend's 70th birthday. The 3 courses for £25 is value for money and a wonderful dining experience. All the food had flavours blended perfectly and beautifully presented. An imaginative menu, with little twists. Ideal portion size, we...felt full but not stuffed - ideal. Service was attentive but not intrusive. We will be back. Many thanks to the chef and front of house team.More

No it's not limited to roasts (although the roasts are amazing). There is a great selection of different dishes available including plebty of fresh seafood, great burgers and lighter choices too.
