What a wonderful evening at Uncle Sam’s! My sister and I took my niece for her 9th birthday and the staff made such a fuss of her, which was hugely appreciated. They really went above and beyond. The food was also delicious and extremely good...value for money. A wonderful evening. We will definitely be back! Thank you!More
Went to Uncle Sams last night with a friend. It was a nostalgic visit and very enjoyable. I first went to this restaurant when it opened in 1971, as my friend did. The decor is still the same. The burgers were excellent and the staff...very helpfulMore
Have been visiting this restaurant for over 40 years and the top quality food and service has never changed. They serve the best nachos ever.
Popped in for lunch and was greeted to a friendly, warm welcome. They catered for our 4-year-old son with colouring and a storybook. Service was friendly, fast, and efficient, and the food was excellent. Will definitely return.
The restaurant is like an American style diner that does lots of meat based food items so if you’re vegan or vegetarian I wouldn’t recommend!
Awesome as always. The best burger and cheese sauce in the world. Been coming here 47 years and still the best!! Thanks to Sue and the team. 🍔🫕🍟👏
Simply amazing. I went with my family as a celebration and couldn’t have asked for better service. Food was great, tailored to all our needs, including allergies. Cheap price for food received. Couldn’t recommend highly enough.
Visited prior to the Def Leppard concert and were squeezed in by Bex the host who was very warm and welcoming which was much appreciated as we had not booked. Food was delicious and large portions! The decor was a little dated but it didn't...spoil the atmosphere, we had a great time. Bex and Issey worked so hard, they could not do enough to help us, they were both superstars! What a credit to the restaurant, thank you again.More
Quite simply the best meal I’ve had in years. The wings were unbelievably cheap considering how much you got, and how great they tasted. Overwhelmed with regret that I’ve lived in Sheffield four years and am only just now finding out about this fantastic restaurant....5 stars.More
The hand made Nachos are phenomenal crisp and tasty. Burgers are delicious. Family owned and friendly. We were even given advice on places to visit. Felt right at home at this diner.
Been to Uncle Sams on many occasions over the years. The menu is largely unchanged from what it was in the 80s (not a bad thing) nor is the restaurant decor. Great place for families, not so much for a quiet meal as the tables...are pretty close together & it does get noisy. The atmosphere is very lively & the serving staff do a great job, particularly appreciated them fitting us in without a booking. Unfortunately however I do feel the food quality lets the place down. Although the menu is extensive, very little if any of the food is made on the premises eg frozen chips/onion rings/ sauces. I appreciate that it’s not an expensive place to eat but a little bit of salad garnish would have been nice rather than the rather beige looking burger & fries I was served. Desserts were nice but again nothing particularly special. Uncle Sams is undoubtedly a Sheffield institution but I do feel it is relying too much on its past reputation & there are certainly many better places to eat on the area.More
The staff was amazing couldn’t do anything else for us. It was my sons 16th birthday and made it special for him. Even other people eating here joined in to sing happy birthday also the little one loved the train going round thank you again...we all loved everything about the night.More
I've been eating at Uncle Sam's for over 40 years and I love that the quality of the food and the friendliness of the staff remain constantly excellent. Whether you have a regular favourite choice (#2 with onion rings instead of fries as you ask!)...or you prefer to choose from the wide selection like my other half you can guarantee you'll enjoy your meal. The atmosphere is always great and the place is full of happy people which shouldn't be a surprise as no business, especially in the hospitality industry, stays open for more than 50 years unless they're keeping their customers satisfied. Overall a wonderful dining experience at very competitive prices. I recommend booking a table especially at the week-ends as, while the staff do their very best to fit people in, this is a VERY popular restaurant. Thanks "Sam's" for all the great times and delicious meals!More
My childhood friend and I wanted a trip down memory lane so decided to go to Uncle Sams. We’re now 62!! We were given a warm welcome and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Breadcakes were beautifully fresh and the cheese sauce was delicious (as it...always was). I had the Uncle Sams special burger. My friend needed no bread due to dietary requirements and nothing was too much trouble. All in all we will go back again as it was delicious.More
