First time I've ever written a review because felt moved to do so. Came after being recommended by a few friends and wasn't disappointed. Really nice vibes super friendly and attentive staff and the food is great, making my way through the menu with each visit now hah. Wish I had time and money to blast sat in a cafe, this would top my list in Sheffield now. Chef said he'd make me a spicy chutney, based from what I'd been ordering he thinks I'd like it; I've only been twice. Defo check this place out, time are hard for the hospitality industry so they need support more than ever really, and this place is well worth the money <3

A sublime dining experience

Whenever I have to head into town, I treat myself to a turmeric latte and lamb curry from the Chakra lounge. They have a variety of vegan milk alternatives and are more than happy to customise my dish to have rice instead of noodles. The food is fresh and tastes amazing. The menu is varied and unique. I have only had takeaway from here due to the pandemic but the decor is so beautiful that I can't wait to have a proper sit-down meal in here with friends. The staff are super helpful and lovely too. I can't recommend this place enough.

The decor was quite cosy .All the food we ordered was freshly made , flavourful and made as per our taste .we ordered Bhaang lassi, cardamom tea , and a few Indian chaat. All food was authentic Indian taste . The owner was friendly and made sure the food was made to our taste and liking . Will highly recommend this place if you are looking for some vegan/ vegetarian Food .

Excellent Place!!!

We really didn't know what to expect when we booked a table here, we thought it would be like any Indian curry house. We were very pleasantly surprised!! Contact with them via email prior to booking was very friendly and super efficient. This didn't change when we met the staff. They were very friendly and exceptionally accommodating The menu is small, but this is a good thing. It encouraged me to try something I probably wouldn't normally try. The food was superb! Very fresh, very tasty and made me want to eat more despite the fact I was full! The side plates are a good size. We brought the puddings home with us as we couldn't eat any more and they were lush too. We will definitely be returning. A great little find!!!! Our 12 & 11yr olds also loved the food!!!

Tongue-tingling tremors mmmmmnnn

Entered the cafe on a dreary, drizzly day, only to be transported to a zone of calm and brightness! The colourful decor, beautiful artwork and organic seating hit me like a blast of calm karma. The menu was well organised with easy to understand descriptions although photographs would have enhanced the menu. When the food came (within 10 minutes) it was as tongue-tingingly tasty as it’s appearance. The slice of orange really did the trick! I would definitely recommend the small plates for a hungry satiating lunch. My dish was Desi Medley and at £5.90 a fulfilling and nutritious vegan lunch. I will be coming again 100%

They have got most beautiful food which holds the authenticity which I didn't find anywhere in the UK The place itself is very pretty. I was so amazed by the portion, you will never get that portion for that price anywhere else. They pay full attention to their food, they do look very appealing to your eyes.

A hidden indian/vegetarian gem!

I walked past this place a few times thinking it was a shop I was wrong! It's an amazing Indian food place with fantastic vegetarian options. I'm not a vegetarian but love the food especially the samosa chaat and the plant burger! Such unusual but amazing tasting food, it may convert me to being a vegetarian! You can order and sit in the restaurant or order online and pick up in the cafe which is handy! It is small inside I would recommend booking a table. Good value and really friendly and helpful staff, highly recommend! Will be back many times I'm sure😀

Brilliantly unconventional

Chakra Lounge is a quirky and unusual cafe situated centrally. Decor is bold yet stylish and it's clear a lot of thought had gone into creating a thoroughly modern east-meets-west ambience. Service was both friendly and efficient, even when it got busy around late morning. By cafe standards it felt like the staff were particularly diligent and we felt genuinely looked after. For me though, the food was the jewel in the crown. It's easy to do this kind of thing and get it horribly wrong but the prep and presentation at Chakra can only be described as artistic. They say the first bite is with the eyes and oh what a sumptuous bite it was. The "if Indians did it" full breakfast is a stunning to look at as it is to consume. This is a brunch that charms you. Truly innovative, thoughtful and delicious. I would give six stars if I could.

We ordered the matcha and rose latte, and an iced dirty chai. both were made swiftly and were beautiful. the latte specifically, had an impeccable visual appeal as it arrived with rose petals both on top and around the mug. We then moved on to food, of which consisted of the Amritsari Masala Maggie and Full Desi Breakfast. The ramen was exquisite, though slightly bland in parts. When mixed with the egg (of which you have to pay extra for), it curates a delicious taste. The broth has a slightly curry-esc flavour, which should be expected with the name “masala”. Though it was not too hot. Perfect for someone who doesn’t like spice, but loves ramen. The only downfall to this dish was the surprise of peas, as they don’t specify which vegetables are within it. I’m not the biggest fan of them, though, when picked out, this dish is truly enjoyable. The desi breakfast, of which was ordered by my partner, was “very nice”. The avocado was a pleasant surprise, for someone who’d never tried it previously. The vegetarian sausage provided could be compared to a veggie stick, which is delicious for those who enjoy vegetables. Overall, the service and food were excellent. The staff are very friendly, especially the newcomer to the team, whose name is Annabelle. She greeted us with a smile and (when I was desperate for the bathroom) suggested my partner sit down and wait so we could order together. Most other places we have been to in the area don’t allow for this, giving that you usually have to buy something before being allowed access. The toilets are very clean and seem to be maintained well, with posters on the walls for those who forget their phones. These being word search and word jumbles. There are also feminine products behind the toilet for those in need, something I found very useful on my visit.

Fresh, tasty food and immaculate vibes

Me and my friends love coming to Chakra Lounge - whether it be for leisure or to do some uni work - the vibe is immaculate. The food is fresh and tasty - the flavours are so vibrant and authentic. Indian flatbreads with chickpea curry and masala chips are my favourite! The selection of drinks are original and varied. The pricing is very fair too, especially compared to other city centre eateries - can't go wrong if you are a student like me! A special thanks to Harvey who is so approachable and accommodating - his kind hospitality is the cherry on top :)

I love Chakra lounge and have for a really long time - so when my friend needed to see the sights of Shef I took them here. The food is fantastic, I'm addicted to the blue coffee, and the staff are lovely. I'd reccomend this place to anyone - especially if you're gluten free, vegetarian or vegan.

I met my partner in Chakra, we had our first few dates here and then simply kept going. The food is wonderful, comforting and the menu changes often that it’s exciting but retains all of its familiarity. The staff are lovely and accommodating. We’ve had plenty of chats with Sunny and Elle (part of the kitchen) and with Harvey and Jordan (two of the front of house) and they're always so welcoming. Chakra is an important part of both the hospitality and university community, please do go and see them.

Flavoursome, fresh food and not too expensive!

I ordered 6 dishes from this place for a leaving do at work and we really enjoyed it. The portions are quite big and the food was fresh. We all were making happy food noises! The service was great and I'm really glad to see Indian food which is not oily and heavy. Definitely will be ordering more from here in the future! Thank you. Based on delivered service we are giving this 5 stars.

Lovely breakfast in a fast-developing part of the city

Really liked this place- the food and drink were both tasty, the service was warm, the decor really thoughtfully done. It actually reminded me of being in Mumbai! I was disappointed that chai wasn't on the menu, but when I asked I was told they could make it for me and that it will be on the new menu. It was delicious. If you haven't been to Fitzalan Square for a while it is worth checking out- it has a real buzz, with the redeveloped square and a cluster of businesses having opening in the past few years.
