Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A woman was refused phone charging because the bar manager said they were liable for the phone behind the bar. Bar staff were helpful but were disciplined for helping the young woman who had lost her keys. The woman was intoxicated and had lost her keys she had no other option and it was such a shame the bar manager refused to help to this woman as I had previously liked this pub. We took the woman to the brothers arms where without question she was allowed to charge her phone. The women were concerned about recent spikings and I personally expect better from pubs in meersbrook to be protecting and helping women find their way hone safely.

Pies awesome, staff lovely but size of mushy pea portions that Yorkshire should be embarrassed about.

Nice place. But you will pay more for lemonade!! If you ask for a pint of shandy they charge you for a pint of the lager you choose. So if you drink a premium lager your half of lemonade costs more than if it was in a cheap lager. That is poor service!

My friends and I have been coming to this pub multiple times a week for months and never had any issues, the bar staff have always been loverly and there’s a great atmosphere. Last night, the landlord of the pub shouted at us completely out of the blue and was extremely verbally abusive. It was absolutely vile, telling us to shut the **** up and that everyone in the pub was thinking it. We asked everyone around us and no had an issue with us. We also spoke to the bar staff and they said there was nothing they could do - we were not asked to leave either, again showing we had done nothing wrong. Avoid this pub if you are young or not a local.

Never been before but saw good reviews. Well worth the visit. Excellent beer garden, cosy interior and the “Sunday lunch” based around their pie serving was lovely. Staff great and manager very engaging. Will be back.

We went here with some of our friends, this man was staring at us the whole time making us feel really uncomfortable. Found out it was the landlord. Really strange atmosphere here.

Genuinely worst experience ov my life, I got accused ov being drunk and disorderly while I was having a quiet pint with friends, subsequently I was ejected for no reason whatever, and made to feel like a hooligan for no reason. Just avoid.

Hi Matthew Sorry you felt aggrieved but it is a strict licence condition that we refuse to serve individuals when we think they have consumed too much and we can get prosecuted for not doing this. All the best

"GOOD" - Well, for a start, it says "Pie" on the wall. ( that is never a bad thing) - Nice large, well presented "kid free" beer garden. ( cos sometimes you need a break) Dogs are welcome, which is fine as long as they don't start drooling on me or humping my leg. - Fine selection of craft ales. - Cosy on the inside. "BAD" - On the odd occasion a couple of the staff have been a bit "Not bothered". Don't get me wrong though the rest of them have been great. I've been here with the wife and also with friends. Its definitely a place I'll be making the journey down the road to again and again. Just a real nice place to be. God knows why it took me so long to discover it. (Possibly due to the fact i was too lazy to travel 2 or 3 miles down the road to the place)

Liked everything- the beers, the beer garden, the atmosphere, the location. A proper pub with something special about it. Sheffield is so lucky to have so many good pubs and this is one of the best.

This is now the best pub on Heeley Bottom and the main reason we visit the area. The staff are pleasant, there's plenty to choose from in terms of food and drink and the quality is very good. Beer garden is spacious, clean and pleasant(when weather permits) and I would highly recommend this pub for a sherbert or two!

Called in for a couple of drinks after a afternoon shopping in town. Cold day roaring real fire on made it a real cosy place. Good choice of lagers/beers. Didn’t have food - but I have heard the pies are outstanding
