Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

New favourite Sunday lunch place. One meat, one vegetarian, one vegan option. Great beer options too. All that plus attentive but not overbearing service.

Delicious food and drink. Excellent beer selection. Gorgeous beer garden ( with cover if it’s raining). Lovely pub full of character. Easy to access from city centre, Ecclesall Road and London Road. Well worth a visit after work or for food any time .

Great place for a nice chilled out pint, slightly off the beaten track, but not too far, well worth a visit for a decent beer, and the food is very tasty. Always great for a pre or post match pint or two as well.

We popped in to the Beer Engine by chance before a gig at the Foundry and it ended up being a real highlight. The beer selection is fantastic and the tapas was delicious. We had a chat with the landlord who was really welcoming and...has obviously put a lot of love and thought into the place including making it feeling cosy and only serving quality food and drink. Highly recommended.More

Three nights in Sheffield to visit the great pubs that make Sheffield a great beer destination, my twin brother Stephen and I dropped by The Beer Engine and what a great pub. Walking in and I knew I would enjoy my visit here, the interior...is fantastic, light and airy, the decor and furnishings including the white painted serving bar are very cool, there's also plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub, its a great pub to unwind in. We were here on a Wednesday evening, pub was just starting to get busy, a quick study of their beer range and we both opted to have Neepsend Brewery Co " alcis " a great session ipa that at 4 2% ABV was just a superb ipa. Hoppy but not overhopped ale, crisp, well balanced and bursting with taste, on a really hot evening a totally refreshing brew, its pubs like this serving beer this good that makes Sheffield a joy to visit. We both really enjoyed our ipa's in here, we only stayed for the one as we had other pubs we planned to visit and for a first time visit to The Beer Engine we were totally impressed The Beer Engine is easy to locate along Cemetery Road. Opening hours are; Monday & Tuesday, Closed. Wednesday to Friday, Open from 4pm. Saturday & Sunday, Open from Midday. A wonderful beer destination, most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area.More

A great little boozer serving a wide selection of craft ales. The food is of the tapas variety and very nice. Can’t really find fault with this place and if craft ale is your thing give a whirl you won’t be disappointed.

The Beer Engine on Cemetery road is a fantastic pub that offers a superb beer range and a great food menu.A traditional multi-roomed pub with a superb interior with many original features and a superb beergarden. This is an excellent pub that offer craft and...cask beers and global tapas but we came here for the craft and cask ales. The Beer Engine was really busy when we visited but most of the poeple were out in there brilliant beergarden so we had no problem finding a seat in here. When here we had a few pints of Neepsend Brew Co Alcis a superb beer well served and really well priced. This is a fantastic pub and worth a visit as there beer's are superb and the staff are friendly and is easy to locate from Boston Street/London Road bus stop it's a short walk. We had a great experience at the Beer Engine. The staff were professional, friendly and quick to take our drink orders which is espescially good now that many places are table service. Social distancing was very easy with good signage and a one way system...in place. The tapas was fantastic, ach dish was beautifully cooked and I would definitely recommend eating and drinking here.More

The Beer Engine has a good-sized beer garden round the back, with flowers and picnic tables and a nice high wall to keep out the road noise, as it's near London Road, one of Sheffield's busiest thoroughfares. There is an excellent selection of beers and...they serve delicious Chinese Dumplings (pork, chicken or vegan) from the restaurant next door. The service was really friendly and efficient.More
