Good reasonable pub with a small menu, but a good menu if you are a meat eater. We had the ham hock and the slow roast short rib which were both excellent.

Lunchtime menu - great burger, excellent salad, really good flat white coffee, reasonable prices, good welcome. What's not to like? Except, perhaps the over attentive service. I was lunching on my own - with my book - and did feel hurried to move on. It...More

House of Grain was born by cherry-picking the things we love most. Good food and good booze mixed with good old-fashioned debauchery. We believe slow cooked meat is king, Sunday lunches need disco, Prosecco is best served in endless abundance and great nights start with Gin. We named our house after the simple grain – the mother of all ingredients. Food and booze ain’t nothing without grain and what is life without these things. For us, the best dishes aren’t fussy or deconstructed, they’re simple and use the best ingredients we can get our hands on. This means that the veg is always fresh from the field and the animals have lived a good life. With our farmers’ passion and our chefs’ love of good food, we created something true. So, whether you’re in search of a spot of lunch, catch up with friends over an iced coffee or milkshake, some cheeky after work drinks, a delicious evening meal, or just a good time, you won’t find a more enjoyable time anywhere else in Shrewsbury.
