My parents were visiting from Norfolk. We hadn't been to The Grapes before but it had been recommended by a friend. The restaurant was very welcoming and the staff were too. We all had a 3 course meal and were not disappointed. The meals were...very good value and exceedingly delicious! Would definitely recommend! My parents went away with a fantastic memory and have asked if we could eat there again on their next visit in November!More

We have visited this restaurant many times in the past with a positive outcome. So we thought we would book for Father's Day for 6 people. We booked online, where we were given the option of 3 course meal or A la carte. When we...arrived we were presented only with the 3 course meal option. We had 2 family members over 80, who could not manage a 3 course meal and others who did not really want to eat 3 courses. We spoke to the waitress, who said that we could take the desserts back home to eat. We did not want to. She alerted the manager. He came to the table but stated that only the 3 course meals were on offer. We pointed out that the Website allowed us to book for A la carte menu, but he was not to be moved. We told him that we had visited for Father's Day the previous year, where we did order only one course. He said he was not the manager then. We would not have booked had this been the only option on the Website, as we did not want a 3 course meal. We left and took our trade elsewhere, where we could order what we wanted to eat. We will not bother going back to Ego again.More

Visited here for world cocktail day as there was a special deal on. The meals were really nice, the lamb kofte starter was really nice and the pizzas here are good also. Service was great, we had a mojito that wasn't great and it was...taken off the bill without any argument. I think they were a bit understaffed but they still did a great job.More

Dropped in just after 4pm with family and had $20 dollar meals which was a choice of starters or desrt and main. Sirloin steak was ok but a little tough and chip portions quite small. Service was ok although our waitress didnt want to smile..girls...on desk were better though and would rate just average or above. but good surroundings and spacious insideMore

We arrived for a birthday lunch and then realised I’d made a mistake and booked the date wrong. The Manager was understanding and helpful and quickly found us a table in a quiet corner of the restaurant. The food was lovely and service good, I...recommend Ego and we plan to return - making sure I get the date right next time!More

Took my grandmother for afternoon tea, absolutely fantastic from start to finish. The staff were attentive, polite, happy and very helpful. The food was absolutely delicious and very good value for money. Buzzing but relaxed atmosphere in the restaurant was another plus. I would highly...recommend ego and am so impressed I've booked to go again but this time for lunch. Many thanks for a wonderful afternoon.More

Starter was cold. Roast Potatoes were not freshly cooked & in turn were rock hard. Sons Meal looked very basic & unimaginative. Chicken, new potatoes & ‘salad’ which was just a load of chopped red onions. No accompanying sauce, very dry dish without any thought...gone into the meal. Poor standard of food but good service. As a paying customer I’d prefer the reverseMore

It is child friendly but there are no facilities such as a play area. It is more of an adult restaurant.
