Made a return visit to La Dolce Vita last night . I was slightly concerned as after our previous visit we have raved about this small unassuming restaurant and were we going to be disappointed on a return visit. Most definitely not ! We all made the decision to have the 4 dish taster menu , your asked of any dislikes and that’s as much as you know until the food arrived. To wet your appetite while waiting some salt and vinegar nuts and a warm cheesy Choux bun arrived, these leave you wanting more. The first course was a fish dish , I’m told it was beautiful but as I don’t eat fish I had a beetroot and goats cheese creation. The instruction given was to “dig deep” to get a little of everything , the layers of complex flavours worked together superbly . I’ve never tasted anything like it before , it was divine. Next came a pasta dish , think flavours of carbonara in a ravioli . Cheesy filled pillows in a rich bacon sauce , maybe the favourite dish of the table. This was followed by a steak , cooked to perfection accompanied with parsnips in various ways. Not a big steak eater this is the best steak I have ever eaten , it really did melt in the mouth. Desert was a chocolate mouse with , chestnut. Yoghurt ,raspberries and beetroot ! It not only looked beautiful but tasted it. This chef really knows food, offering something different that I know my descriptions don’t do justice too. Not knowing what we were going to be eating we asked advice on wine , were recommended a medium priced red that accompanied the food very well , a great choice I just wish I had noted the name . Finally I must mention the waiter, unbelievably only 16, Jo is such an asset to this restaurant. Friendly and very knowledgeable of the courses he showed a maturity of someone years older . He was very attentive without being over intrusive , thanks Jo for adding to our wonderful evening.

We were camping in the local area for the August Bank Holiday weekend, so I was looking to see if there were any nice restaurants in Shrewsbury. Having inquired about a table, Patricia emailed me back really quickly and said if we wanted to do the 7 course tasting menu, we needed to pay £20 deposit per head. Considering we're living in strange times, this seemed absolutely fine and you could pay via BACS. Our meal was simply excellent from start to finish - The young chap waiter was really diligent and polite and every single course was really, really well seasoned and cooked. We're real foodies and have had the pleasure of eating at a lot of Michelin starred restaurants - this place rivals some of them, it was utterly brilliant and I can see why it's #1 in Shrewsbury. Amazing food and amazing service - You won't be disappointed

My wife and I have been dining at La Dolce Vita for over 10 years, so it wasn’t a difficult choice to decide where to have a celebratory birthday meal. We don’t visit as often as we would like (living in Stafford) but each time it is worth the journey and staying overnight in or around Shrewsbury to make it even more special. For the party, I was able to persuade my family to travel from Liverpool and Oxfordshire for lunch on a Sunday and, in spite of the storms, everyone was able to make it – and very glad they did! Luigi and Patricia were able to accommodate 17 adults and 3 bambini (aged 2,3 and 4) comfortably and, after such car journeys, the prosecco and canapes on arrival were very welcome. I had chosen the tasting menu to let everyone experience the skill, talent and dedication to detail that we know the Adaggio family is famous for. Because the tasting menu is a “surprise tasting menu”, you don’t know what chef Gennaro is going to come up with(!) but each course is designed to take Italian cuisine to a completely new level. (You can let Luigi or Patricia know in advance of any allergies or anything you don’t particularly like – some of the guests for example had an aversion to shellfish.) As each course was presented, Luigi explained the ingredients and made recommendations such as using a spoon for the beetroot/cheese starter to taste all the flavours mixed together. There were no complaints and everyone was in total agreement that the wine (Gavi and Barolo) and each course was excellent - so much so that, based on the whole experience (hospitality, food, company, service, setting, ambience), each guest gave a score of 10/10. A note to previous diners who may have been disappointed with the décor - the interior was revamped in 2019 and is stunning – makes a fitting background for the Rosette for Culinary Excellence 2019 awarded by the AA. Can’t recommend this family-run restaurant enough for the consistent quality, friendly approach and innovation of their modern Italian cuisine in a fresh, chic setting.

Absolutely love this restaurant. We had the six course taster menu and it was the most divine eating experience we’ve ever had. Each course is bursting with a multitude of flavours and textures which were individual works of art and music to our taste buds. Each course is served with an excellent attention to detail and a full description of the flavours. The restaurant staff are very welcoming and the attention to detail is first class! We will absolutely be dining here again! The best restaurant in Shrewsbury, thank you so much !

In short the 5* reviews are right, - small well presented restaurant- friendly and attentive service and food that would do justice to any Michelin star establishment. . Each course is bursting with a multitude of flavours and textures which were individual works of art and music to our taste buds. Each course is served with an excellent attention to detail and a full description of the flavours. The restaurant staff are very welcoming and the attention to detail is first class! We will absolutely be dining here again! They change the menu every month too. The best restaurant in Shrewsbury, thank you so much !

We have returned to this restaurant a number of times and in fact it is the only restaurant in shrewsbury that we chose to dine at when eating out. The food is so innovative, it looks amazing and tastes even better . The hosts are wonderful - we are always made to feel welcome and nothing is too much trouble. We really cannot recommend la dolce vita highly enough.

I never usually write reviews (or take photos of my food) but this food was so good I have to share it, you HAVE to visit. Visited yesterday (18th March), we have lived in Shrewsbury the whole time this restaurant has been open but for some reason we have never visited. What a mistake that is, the food and service was amazing. Complimentary salt and vinegar nuts (which they should sell by the bag) and a cheese dough ball, carpaccio, crostini with a mixture of toppings, cod loin and lamb rump washed down with a couple of beers and a lovely house white wine. My husband commented that its the best lamb he had ever tasted. We will definitely be visiting more often, need to support local businesses at this testing time.

We came across this little gem on the last night of our weekend away. We thought it was the best meal we've had in a very long time. We order a 4course meal , which you didn't know what they were serving you till it came out, and we weren't dispointed at all. It was amazing.the son(chef) should apply for master chef 🙂 And it lovely to see a family run restaurant with such passionate in what they all do We shall be back again

After not being to a restaurant for 4 months from Lockdown, what a great way to start going to restaurants!! Visiting here on there opening weekend! And boy it was well worth booking up dinner on the Sunday, at the moment la dolce Vita are only doing 4 course or 6 course tasting menu. Its had to definitely be a 6 course on for me! First was some bread, nuts and a bun to nibble on, then some Absolutely delicious dishes come out.. 1.Textures of beetroot, goats curd, pistachio. This was a beautifully delicious! with different textures of beetroot! Pickled and a great centre of goats curd and pistachio. 2. Cured sea trout, fennel, apple, cucumber. Trout fell apart and with a fresh tastes from the fennel & apple! With slight acidity from the cucumber. 3. Something like carbonara. Always nice to see this with every visit! Pasta perfect creamy inside, more could you ask for 4. Roast duck, aromatic spices, peanuts. That duck was expertly cooked! Spices did not overpower very fragrant & not hot, just a nice subtle spice! 5. Roast rump of lamb, liquorice & onion. Now that lamb was one of the best tasting lamb have had for a while!! The fat on there as delicious! Both meat & fat literally melted in your mouth!! This was my stand out dish from the menu 👊 6. Vanilla rice, rhubarb, tarragon. Absolute get pre-dessert! Who would have thought that a tarragon taste works well with rhubarb. 7. Dark chocolate, fig, olive oil. Well this definitely finished me off for the night! Rich tasty with hot & cold textures! What I love about La Dolce Vita is that it a proper family run restaurant! And you can tell that they love running there restaurant! And this is why I wanted La Dolce Vita to be my first restaurant visit after Lockdown! Looking forward to my autumn return visit.

I can honestly say this was one of, if not, the best meals and dining experiences I have ever had. Having been booked into a sister restaurant of the hotel I was staying in for Mother's day I was then told that they needed us to eat by 5pm which was far too early as we were going out for the day first. What was initially a real inconvenience turned out to be the greatest stroke of fortune as I was able to take my lovely mum for an absolutely unforgettable meal that absolutely made our trip. From the very first moment I contacted La Dolce Vita Patricia was absolutely delightful, friendly and incredibly helpful which made us feel extremely exited about the fact that we would be going there. We stated our dietary requirements, which we were made to feel were absolutely no problem at all, then looked forward to being surprised on the night. When we arrived we were greeted in the loveliest way possible. I didn't have to state who we were-they just knew! It may have been a give away that I was the only person with just my mum but that didn't matter-it felt lovely. The restaurant is small and intimate with only 7 tables which was perfect as it was full of atmosphere without being loud and we didn't have to shout to hear each other. The food was beyond incredible. Every bite was an absolute delight. The flavours were exquisite and complemented each other perfectly, everything was beautifully presented and the skill demonstrated was like nothing I have experienced anywhere before and I have been to some extremely good restaurants. Do yourself a favour and if in Shrewsbury go here. It may be a bit more expensive than your average restaurant but it is a whole lot better and worth every penny for a truly unforgettable experience. Thank you to Patricia, Luigi, Genarro and the lovely young waiter for making my mum's day one to remember.

We live in Swansea and visit this restaurant every time we visit Shrewsbury, even changed our travel plans so we could eat here. It was delicious as usual, Patricia was her usual friendly self who always comes out to chat to her guests. My seafood spaghetti was so tasty as was my husbands belly pork starter and his duck main. It was lovely to meet other young members of the family who were helping out ! I cannot speak highly enough of this lovely little restaurant. All the reviews say it all. See you in August.......... Already looking forward to it.

So pleased when we knew this small but perfectly formed restaurant had reopened. They are only serving their taster menus, but these are perfectly sized portions of the most amazing courses. You have to savour every course to get the wonderful fusion of tastes and textures. Definitely worth a visit - we have been going for a number of years and have never been disappointed with either the menu or the warm welcome we always receive.

This restaurant is run in a friendly and very efficient manner by the chef and his two parents. Dad is Front of House and explained the choice of two tasting menus, one £40 for 4 courses and the other £60 for 6 courses. We chose the 6 course menu. Every course was absolutely delicious, imaginative and beautifully presented. We were not rushed at all throughout our meal, and we were delighted with every aspect of our evening. We have eaten at the premises of several well known celebrity chefs, but this meal was easily better than those which we have been served elsewhere. If you want to eat here - and you REALLY should - then make sure you book well in advance as it is not a very big restaurant.

It’s taken us months to get a table here as it’s always booked up on a Saturday. We were lucky to get a rare cancellation & we can see why people keep coming back & it’s always busy. Food was very tasty, home cooked, proper Italian food and nice house wine. Everyone was super friendly, great service

Dine out on 4 course tasting menu excelled expectations on a quiet midweek night. This is a small restuarant providing a high quality service and food offering The one room setting was comfortable, clean and felt safe under the light touch covid19 rules. Good value for a special occasion.
