Beautiful presentation, good service and nice flavours however everything was a little understated and underwhelming (and have to admit that we were hungry not long after).
A bit disappointed with the flavours on the whole cauliflower dish - and it didn’t quite look like a...More
As dedicated meat eaters we went along to join friends at Acorn for the evening with a degree of trepidation.... but wow .. who knew plant based eating could be so diverse and full of flavour. The staff were lovely and very informative, and the...More
Wow how times change. A few years ago I’d never thought my husband and I would be eating a fully plant based diet but we are and are loving it and even more so now we are finding such amazing fine dining restaurants like Acorn...More
Went very early in January and the fact that it was booked solid is testament to how popular the restaurant is, and with good reason. As a meat eater, it was a thoroughly enjoyable meal with a good selection of drinks to accompany. The tasting...More
We visited the Acorn as ‘veggie-curious’ diners. Very impressed with the ambiance and the attentive service. The food was beautifully presented and it tasted delicious. Completed with a very good wine, we really enjoyed our new experience.
Curious to try many types of cuisine, and keen on vegetarian food, after several failed attempts we finally managed to book a table at Acorn.
The interior is compact, balancing contemporary furnishings against the background of 18th-century panelling. Staff are a little aloof.

Hi, Sadly we only really have one table that can comfortably sit 6. We also limit our sittings to 8 every half an hour to ensure a smooth, seamless flow of food from the kitchen. We have tried tables of 12 in the past only to find that we are unable to provide the level of service we expect of ourselves and it has been detrimental to the experience of other tables dining at the same time. Should we, by some twist of fate, find ourselves with a bigger restaurant in the future we will happily accept larger bookings, but for now we must sadly disappoint.
