I spent a LOT of time here in the 1980's. The place used to be so full that people were sat on the stairs. However, I am pleased to say the old place has had a lick of paint, some moving of walls and doors and the owners have done a good job of bringing it into the 21st century.... More

This pub serves Bath Ales beer, as well as being a quirky and comfortable place to visit. Great beer, great atmosphere and well worth a visit.

Good range of Bath ales. Staff pleasant. Fish and chips was a great mess. Still suffering the next day. Much better meals all over Bath.

Fish pie was a slab of salmon, and one small piece of white fish, which hadn't been boned, and bland potato. Crab fishcakes tasted of nothing. Nothing seemed to be seasoned, and had to go and hunt for salt and pepper as nobody offered us any and there were no condiments on the table.

Reliable beer and good lunch menu. I rather liked the fish finger sandwich on lovely doughy white bread. Soup was good too. Nice and relaxed and excellent male (?) shopping relief in the city.

Old interior with local Bath ales. Not a bad pint at all. Nice staff and a pleasant lunch. (Fish was given high marks by my veggie friend). Well worth a visit.

Small historic pub in one of Bath's lovel!Y back streets, the beer is local with lots of choice. Floor is good, recommend the fish finger sandwich! Been here many times, and hopefully many more!

Description
The Salamander is great city-centre pub, 'The Sally' serves good food and a fine choice of beers from Bath Ales and beyond, and welcomes a friendly, eclectic audience. It's small, it's snug but it's oh so special! The Salamander is tucked neatly away just off Queen Square in the heart of the Georgian city of Bath. Historically a 'steak and chop house', it now consists of a wonderfully simple bar on the ground floor and an impressive dining room complete with galley kitchen upstairs.Using the finest produce from local suppliers, 'The Sally' is renowned for its imaginative and varied menu, available both downstairs in the bar and upstairs.
