Although hopefully not into the CAMRA-nerd part of the spectrum, we tend to be a bit picky on pubs and asked that nice Mr Google re best-pubs-in-Bath. The Salamander appears on many of them and deserves its rating. Good range of beers (apparently a Bath Ales pub), enough customers for atmosphere but not packed and not pissed-and-boorish, good service, good... More

One of the best pubs in Bath, this pub is tucked away at the top of town. Looks a small pub from the outside but when you go in there are plenty of nooks and alcoves to eat and drink in, cosy wooden floored pub that's well worth a visit. Very friendly staff serving great Bath ales, when next in... More

What's not to like about this side street bar? Well no a lot. A warm welcome from Anouska behind the bar led us on a pleasant journey through their fab range of hand pulled Bath Ales. Definitely dog friendly and a real cosy find. Make sure you go to a web browser to ok the t&cs for the free wifi... More

We have visited the Salamander quite a few times. Busy, friendly and great little place to stop off in the centre. Offers food and bar snacks. Definitely worth a visit - gets busy!

Description
The Salamander is great city-centre pub.
'The Sally' serves good food and a fine choice of beers from Bath Ales and beyond, and welcomes a friendly, eclectic audience. It's small, it's snug but it's oh so special! The Salamander is tucked neatly away just off Queen Square in the heart of the Georgian city of Bath.
Historically a 'steak and chop house', it now consists of a well-stocked bar on the ground floor and an impressive dining room complete with galley kitchen upstairs. Using the finest produce from local suppliers, 'The Sally' is renowned for its imaginative and varied menu, available both downstairs in the bar and upstairs.
