We booked very last minute on a whim. When we arrived it was totally empty apart from one other table - this seemed a bit odd as a Saturday evening near Christmas. But, it was warm, lovely music and every single member of staff looked up and gave us a warm hello as were escorted through to the totally empty... More

Very nice restaurant, with a romantic ambience and serving authentic Sardinian food. The linguine with crab and bottarga was excellent although the octopus carpaccio lacked a little flavour. Bath has a number of Italian restaurants, but this is one of the better ones.

This restaurant where I had eaten previously let us down this time. Most of the dishes of the day were not available, they had run out. What we ordered from the main menu varied between mediocre to poor quality. We sought the manager's advice regarding the Sardinian wines on the wine menu. Everything he said about specific wines was incorrect,... More

A perfect place for a meal out in traditional Mediterranean style. The waiter was great, very attentive and engaging. We ordered dishes from recommendation which were outside our usual choices - a real treat. Give in to the dessert wine too. Definitely recommended

We ate here for my dad's 60th birthday this week, he'd been here before and really wanted to return. I am so glad he chose this place, the food was spectacular! There was a real 'family meal' feel to the place, it has a nice relaxed pace, no cramming people in and rushing them out. All six of us really... More

The concierge at our hotel recommended this restaurant to us. We were greeted as soon as we walked in, and it was a warm genuine feeling. The menu was quite different and we selected the sardines and salmon to start, followed by chicken and the Sardinian goat dish, which was fantastic. The wine was an excellent choice and that was... Second visit in six weeks. Excellent selection of fish on the 'specials' board. The food is well presented without being too fussy. Good, short wine list and staff able to advise about the selection of wine. Best to book, as it can get busy.

Roughly translated from Sardinian, Ai means come and join us, its an appropriate title for one of Baths most welcoming restaurants. Currently the only restaurant in the South West specialising in Sardinian cuisine, Ai, on George Street close to the Assembly Rooms and The Circus is a unique dining proposition, providing Baths gastronomes with an opportunity to step outside of the Italian comfort zone. A modern interior inspired by the warm tones and natural materials of a traditional trattoria leads through to a suntrap courtyard just made for enjoying Ais summery cuisine. Head chef Roberto Lilliu puts years of experience working in Mediterranean kitchens to use here, with the menu full of the warm flavours of Southern Europe.
