We went here this evening for the first time and was very impressed. I had the chicken madras and it was the best madras I have ever had. My friend and son very much enjoyed their meals of Chicken tikka masala and korma as well. We will definitely be going back. There was also a friendly and welcoming staff member who served us.

Excellent well spiced fresh food. We are all foodies and very have eaten in a range of Indian restaurants in Bath. This is definitely the best so far.
We chose from the vegetarian menu and everything was delicious , balanced and fresh. Not overcooked as in some places.
Courteous and very helpful waiting staff,
The team has obviously worked hard to provide a safe and welcoming atmosphere and cook authentic, fresh and varied Indian cuisine.
Our new favourite restaurant in Bath, of any cuisine!

I went there last night with my partner and a friend of ours. None of us had been before. The Manager, Calum is welcoming and friendly and found a table for us.
The food is insanely good - very high quality ingredients, delicious and probably one of the best indian meals I've had anywhere.
The menu is interesting and I chose a dish I hadn't had before, which was delicious. Our friend is vegetarian and loved his Paneer dish. The buttered Nam bread was delicious.
The restaurant took over from a Chinese Restaurant and it still seems too 'Chinese' in there in terms of ambience e.g way too bright and very pink! but those things can be easily changed. I asked for the lights to be turned down which the Manager was happy to do.
the Chef came out to say 'hello' and we had an opportunity to compliment him on an excellent meal.
Will definitely be returning and ordering take out from them.

We had booked a table for 7pm, we ordered the poppadoms for a starter (very yummy). We chose lamb rogan josh, chicken tikka masala, rice with peas and a kulcha nan. We were asked how spicy we wanted the mains - always a nice touch. Everything was full of flavour but... such a small amount of meat in the meals, I had four pieces of lamb and one of those was just gristle (I mentioned it to the waitress who said she would pass it on). After we finished our mains we were left to finish our drinks, in fact we never saw a waiter again. We were going to have a desert but after sitting at the table for 15 minutes with empty glasses we gave up and paid at the bar and left.
The waiters seemed to be more interested in the computer at the bar that was bringing in the take away orders.
Such a shame as it was a good meal but we will go elsewhere next time.

Having read all the glowing reviews my wife booked a table for my birthday. She needn’t have bothered since we were the only ones there on a Tuesday night. The food matched the atmosphere - the popadoms were cold and soggy, the chicken was as tough as old boots and even the naan was thin and dry. We left half the food, weren’t charged for the popadoms and were given a complementary dessert which was (to my taste) too sweet to eat. The only redeeming thing about the place was the waiter who did his best...

I live nearby and have eaten in and had take away from Bikano's. The service is great and the food even better. It can sometimes be a bit quiet in the restaurant so we love ordering to take away. The portions are a good size and often there is enough sauce to use on pasta for lunch the next day. Couldn't recommend more.

I was walking down the Widcombe and the Pink exterior of restaurant caught my eye so hence I ended up here for dinner. WOW!! Delicious meal and I appreciated how friendly everyone was to me. The food came out quickly; Homemade chicken Curry with side of Saag Panner was out of this world, and the samosa and garlic naan were delicious as well. I'll definitely come here next time I'm in town -- see you soon, and thanks for the hospitality and amazing food!

Visited this evening with some friends for the first time. Was so impressed with the food, and general efficiency and helpfulness of the staff. The food was nicely presented and tasted lovely and the meal felt like a step up from an average curry house, Delicious meal and I appreciated how friendly everyone was to us. The food came out quickly; Homemade Paneer curry with a side of Bikano’s special Kofta curry was out of this world, and the non-veg platter and keema naan were delicious as well. We had Rasmalai and kulfi in the dessert it was so yum. It was well priced and good efficient service by all staff members.I'll definitely come here next time when in the area

We first visited Bikano's (for lunch) in December, and felt that the restaurant had potential.
Visiting again for dinner confirmed our hopes - the wondrous smell of spices cooking as we entered, the delicate balance of tastes in the starters (especially the chat), excellent service etc.
Highly recommended - now our favourite Indian restaurant in Bath

Two of my closest friends raved about their experience here last week, so on Wednesday I took my young son to have dinner with me and could not have been more impressed. I’ve been fortunate enough to eat in really great Indian restaurants all over the world and this is easily up there with the best of them. Fresh delightful unusual dips and sauces to accompany the various dishes which were all excellent and the fish pakoras are to die for!
Staff were helpful, full of good advice as well as attentive and the restaurant sensibly laid out for social distancing.
Go and enjoy you’ll thank me!

I have travelled extensively and dinned on Indian food around the world including in may restaurants in Mumbai. The good at Bikano's rates amongst the best I have had outside of India! Service also excellent. A short walk from the city centre across the river and well worth the trip 👍👍. Spoke to the chef who was on the evening we dinned there he is called Jess Ram Bhanu and we can highly commend him!! Chris

We loved both the food and the service at Bikano’s, and felt very welcome and “at home there. We had three meat dishes including lamb rogan josh, each with a superb home-made sauce full of finely chopped vegetables. The service was quite helpful and friendly. It’s quite convenient to the train station. We are really looking forward to returning.

We ordered a delivery from Bikano’s last night, and let me just say- we have found a new favourite takeaway!!! Everything was delicious, from beginning to end. Our food was prepared fresh and ready promptly (we followed its progress on Deliveroo), and arrived piping hot and well packaged. Portions were great- very satisfying. We loved the Raita that was thrown in, and much appreciated it as we hadn’t anticipated our meals being as spicy as they were! (But were so glad they were, as we love spice and ordered spicy on purpose!)
Hands down the best chicken jalfrezi we’ve ever had. The veggie biryani was great, and the home style chicken curry was incredible as well- everything was so flavourful!! Loved the saffron pilau rice. We have found a new favourite, and can’t wait to order again as well as dine in as soon as things reopen!! Highly recommend!!

We regularly support Bikanos by ordering through Deliveroo. My husband and I had a pre-theatre dine in experience at Bikanos last night. They have redecorated the interior and their Covid precautions are reassuring. We love the authentic, home cooked flavours - the food is simply superb. We ordered the sharing vegetarian platter to start, the broccoli surkh angar is unbelievably good, followed by Lamb Chettinad (the best curry ever!) and Chicken Taka Tak with naan (also very tasty). It is our favourite curry house in Bath by a mile. Highly recommend!!

We went there on Boxing Day...so many thanks to Bikanos for being open, and please bear in mind that our experience wasn't representative of a normal day.
Good points - not greasy, including poppadums and parathas, which can often be grease traps. The service was efficient and polite, the drinks not exorbitant, and my carnivore son was very pleased with his chettinad. The vegetarian section was a bit predictable, but the dishes I has were fine but not memorable. The main bone of contention was my wife's masaal dosa. Not crisp, no proper potato stuffing or sambhar, although the coconut chutney ws fine. One day dosas will be as popular as pizzas, but in the meantime I'd guess that you do well to only order them at a South Indian speciality place where they're rolling them off a well heated tawa pan all evening long.
They obviously do well here - it's a notch above the fun and jokes of the Panahar, but at the same time "classic" enough to appeal to the regulars at the Ram. However, they make quite a play about their Rajasthani heritage - maybe a few authentic Rajasthani dishes as a substitute for dishes from the Punjab, Kashmir, South India etc might be worth a try? And something a bit more interesting for us vegetarians?
