Took forever to cook breakfast, and sarcastic about it too. They weren't even busy at all - they just don't give a damn about good service. I wouldn't go back again if my life depended on it.

Met a friend here late morning for coffee and something to eat. We both decided to have a full English breakfast, mine with fresh juice and hers with latte. We waited a while as i resume the food was being cooked from scratch, but it was certainly worth the wait. I would definitely eat here again, but be aware that... More

Looks like a good independent cafe but let down by slow service and coffee of laughably bad execution. Weirdly, I could tell they use good quality ingredients for the breakfast but it's poorly executed with little love. A lack of knowledge rather than ambition possibly.

This tasteful but unpretentious cafe on Hayes Place on Bear Flat in Bath is without doubt first class! I love poached egg with cheese on toast. I asked for this and was offered Welsh Rarebit with a poached egg , as per the photograph. The meal was delightful. Perfectly cooked, the egg was ' hand thrown ' with a fully... More

The most amazing service from the manager, friendly, helpful and made for a great evening. The only issue was some of the choices not being available, the starter very uninspiring in presentation, bread and oils just white bread and came with the main course. Vegetarian option good, steak OK but salads were very plain. Such a shame when you have... More

...I do agree with a previous reviewer that there is something missing. The food is great (we went for the full English/veggie) and it was fine. It seems a bit pricey, but a drink is included. So, that was good. I'm just not a huge fan of eating in places where everything is for sale (a bit like Bills in... More

Family members and I from all around the South visit here as our Mother in Law is in care nearby. Always enjoyed the coffee, food, and friendliness although not always such good value. This time however the cafe was completely empty. No one came in. Old wrinkled apples and Lemons visible for sale. Along with Ecover shampoo and toothpaste? TOOTHPASTE!!... More

Went for a late brunch, food was good but the place had a serious lack of atmosphere. If they played some music, it would help.

Having just moved to Bear Flat, I've visited The Bear Pad a few times now. They're usually friendly and helpful, and offer a range of breakfasts and lunches. The first coffee I had there was not great, but this has improved since. The open sandwiches are nice, and the lardy cakes and brownies are very good. I think there's a... More
