A warm welcome on arrival and a table overlooking the night lit Bath skyline was just the start of an really enjoyable evening at this fantastic Italian restaurant. The waiting staff were attentive without being intrusive, taking time to answer our questions about various dishes on the menu. The kitchen team were just as good, presentation of the dishes was very creative and the taste superb. The specials were exactly that ! Put together by chefs that clearly care about the food they prepare. Even the band set a bright and happy mood for the evening.

Great location by the weir with good pizzas and pastas. While not really fine dining as billed, what makes it a great place for visitors is its friendly service from the moment one steps in to the end of the meal. For example, when the carbonara came out much too salty, it was redone at once.

Don't miss Ponte Vecchio when you visit Bath. The restaurant and bar overlook the River Avon but is difficult to spot from the Grand Parade side of the river and is accessed by steps down from Pulteney Bridge. We had a beautifully cooked and served meal before a concert last night. The interior is pretty and low-lit with table candles. The restaurant will be even better in the summer when they can use the terrace and open the doors of the restaurant. But what made it extra special for us was the service from Nacho who made sure my birthday was celebrated in style.

The location is amazing - we felt very welcome when we arrived and the staff were quick to take our order. We ordered risotto, pizza and two seafood pastas. When the seafood pasta arrived I noticed one portion was a lot bigger than the other. Having eaten our meal I noticed my boyfriend was looking really disillusioned. He had been given the smaller version of the seafood pasta and while he didn’t want to scene he could see the empty shells pulled up in our friends bowl proved it. He spoke to the waiter and rather than apologising straight away they took the bowls of shells back to the kitchen and then came and announced there was only one shell difference and said that he was imagining things. We aren’t the type of people to complain so felt mortified to have this response from the waiter of staff. Everyone remained friendly but we were disappointed they preferred to suggest we were imagining it when the hole party could see there was a fair point. Pasta costs very little and so do extra prawns and mussels - what happened to making the customer feel happy? H

If you are looking for a nice place to eat near the river Avon this is the place for you. The pizza was deliciously cheesy as kids described; the view was was relaxing the service was fast & friendly. Thank you for a lovely afternoon!

They were able to seat us 30 mins before our booking as we arrived early. All food the food was incredible. No problems at all when we asked if they could alter one of the pasta dishes to make suitable for veggie consumption. On the house Limoncello at the end was an added bonus.

I’m this lovely Italian restaurant, once again delivers!!! Took my dad this time he lives In Italy all year long and even he was impressed with the quality of the food and drinks. Best Welcome from James, Omar and Nacho. Had two classic mojitos made by nacho behind the bar that really started our evening wonderfully, had some panzerotti with mozzarella and fresh tomato Sauce all home made, and best of all the fresh spaghetti with fresh seafood, and to top it off the authentic Italian red wines selection was amazing I’m so happy they have my favorite red wine MONTEPULCIANO D’ABRUZZO. Love the authentic Italian relaxing vibe this small restaurant gives ❤️. Definitely coming again

It was an amazing lunch the authenticity of the Italian food is surreal, I should know I’m Italian ! We had the homemade bruschetta with fresh oven baked bread (made by Angelo the Pizza Chef) for starters and the scoglio and beef genovese (again made with fresh egg pasta made in the restaurant and cooked with love by Chef Ernesto), and the chocolate soufflé was light as a cloud. James & Nacho the only two staff from front of house were genuine and attentive on a busy Saturday afternoon, the social distancing rules respected and I really felt safe about eating out again. Thankyou Ponte vecchio I’ll definitely be back.

A warm and friendly greeting awaited our arrival and this attitude was maintained throughout our meal, making us feel very welcome and appreciated. The service was first class. We were not rushed at all even though we were an early booking and our table was bound that’s been covered again. The quality of the food was faultless. Good portion sizes and well presented which complimented the standard of the ingredients and preparation. We wouldn’t hesitate to say a big yes to booking. We are not local but would certainly head for Ponte Vecchio next time we are in Bath.

An absolutely delicious meal in a lovely environment. A real hidden gem with live jazz music that sits nicely into the background while you enjoy the most moorish Italian cuisine. The food is traditional rustic Italian dishes that are cooked fresh with the the kitchen open for the eye to see. Staff are attentive, friendly and professional without being intrusive on your evening. I would highly recommend Ponte Vecchio and I will definitely revisit on my next trip to Bath!

Very nice evening with lovely food, service and entertainment. Little disappointed when bill arrived for drinks. We were offered a glass of Port just before the New Year countdown and were given the impression by the waiter that it was complimentary. However when the bill came we had been charged £17.90 for 2 Ports....a bit extortionate to say the least! Very nice place and food but drinks definitely a rip-off. With wine at £38 a bottle (the price of that also wasn't disclosed until we had ordered two!) we won't be rushing back. We did not say anything on the night as it would have put a dampner on a good night but just be wary when being talked into drinks!

With things being mid COVID , we decided that the layout of the restaurant ( and previous experiences) would be conducive for a lovely meal out in a safe environment. The service was excellent ( we wanted garlic bread, which normally came as standard bread but they responded to our request for a pizza base with the garlic and butter - it was excellent). The sea food risotto was superb too. So we had a great evening, and were so glad we chose to eat there

Usually when visiting Bath we dine at Sotto Sotto, however on this occasion despite booking 3 months ago they were fully booked for our chosen dates in December. We decided to try Ponte Vecchio after reading other online reviews and we booked at fairly short notice. The manager and waiting staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. We were made to feel very welcome. Both our meals were lovely, with mine being Gluten Free. Good choice available. Would definitely visit again.

I went with my family to celebrate my wifes 50th birthday. I was looking forward to having the pizza that I like. They didnt have it on the menu so I asked them to make it for me. I was completely bowled over by what they made. It was one of the the best pizzas I've ever had. The standard of the cuisine was very good and the staff are very well trained in customer service. I'd like to say a personal thank you to chef Angelo for going out of his way for accomodating a fusspot like me. Thank you thank you for making it such a memorable evening.

This restaurant is a fantastic little restaurant nestled in right next to Bath rugby club and the weird under Putney Bridge. My girlfriend and I went here for her birthday and we cannot recommend this place highly enough. The waiting staff were incredibly welcoming, friendly, punctual and professional; they knew the menu back to front and could answer any questions we had. The food was insane, needless to say the pasta was authentic and perfect, we often find at Italian restaurants that traditional dishes such as carbonara are not great, however Ponte Vecchio nailed it, pasta was al dente, sauce was rich and creamy without having any cream in it, actual guanciale, just insane. If you want authentic Italian food done to a high quality, this is the place for you.
