This is a little gem of a place, we visited before we went to the theatre. Small little quaint place but let me tell you the food was absolutely lovely. I had the special of the week (duck) and my friend had the dry beef...curry. The girls that served us were absolutely lovely too. I could not fault this place one bit, I'll definitely be going back.More
This is not a fancy/fine dining restaurant but the food was lovely. There were Thai/Asian guests that were enjoying their food, I'm happy if I see Thai's eating Thai, Indians in Indian, Japanese in Japanese restaurants as they restaurants are not just catering to the...masses and some of the dishes are authentically traditional and this was one of them. The rice was served with the dishes as opposed to having to order separate. There was a recommendation to eat the "starters" as an accompaniment to the main, as is the case in most Asian countries. The food was fresh, hot and tasty. They didn't have fish so we had a seafood dish with prawns and squid, a spicy dish with sauce and veg. Thai sweet and sour prawns, these were more sweet than balanced but nice contrast to the spicy heat of the squid dish. Really good value, friendly and helpful staff.More
So everyone understands I have spent most of my career in the hospitality industry and I'd like to think thst I understand service. I came to the restaurant tonight for a meal, I have been enteredworking in town this weekend and I was dining alone....I the restaurant and I asked for a table. The waitress asked how many for and I said one. At the she seemed visibly put out and offered me the un-set table by the door. I asked if I could have another table pointing to a vacant table and I was told that was reserved which is obviously acceptable. I then asked if there was a table in the back of the restaurant to which I was told no and this was "the only table" as they were fully booked. I sat down and I had a menu shoved in my face and I was left. The waiting staff walked past me and serves everyone else in the restaurant ignoring me intil absolutely everyone was see to, I was even asked for a drink order. Another couple came in the restaurant and were asked if they had a booking. The couple replied no and they were told OK and taken to a table at the back of the restaurant. Some time after I was still left with nothing to drink. A waitress came over and asked if was ready to order. I asked why when I requested a table not directly infront of the door with a draft I was told thstbtjis was the only table and yet when this couple came in they were welcomed and taken to table in the back. The waitress looking quite annoyed at my audacity to ask why I had not been given the same level of service as the other guests said thst she would ask the head waitress who was running the restaurant floor. Again ibwas left for sometime until the head waitress came overshe again asked if I was ready to order(the other waitress I assume just walked off and couldn't be bothered to deal with my reasonable question) I explained again and I was told that they had booked. To which I said they hadn't and I had heard them as I was sitting atbthe door like a security guard and heard every word. At this point and with no reasonable excuse the head waitress became a but unclear and "yeahbtheybhave a table" "this is our only free table" "yeah yeah".. the only way I can describe this exchange was like dealing with a child who knows they have done wrong and has been caught out and asked to explain themselves. At this point I still hadn't ordered anything and felt so badly treated and there was clearly no regret for the poor service from the staff so i just left and went to Pizza express. Not what what went out yo eat but at least they were kind, polite and willing to serve a single dinerMore
First time in Yum Yum and thankfully I'd booked online earlier in the day as the place was basically full at 7pm. The staff were very friendly, polite and courteous. The popularity of the place tells you how good the food is with people turning...up and being turned away.. We had the prawn side dish as a starter - fresh and delicious. My main course - no. 8 - was fresh, spicy and with the side order of vegetables a lovely balanced meal..my wife had the red Thai curry and again, tasty, light and fresh. Wines are very limited by the glass - 2 red or 2 white. Bottle prices pretty good. Book and go if you're in Bath.More
Stopped for lunch to take advantage of 'Special Lunch Menu' with plenty of Gluten Free options. All ordered the Green Curry, was absolutely delicious, very fresh. Service was quick & friendly. Not too busy.
We had already eaten out but fancied a take away to take back to the hotel. We had a great meal cooked without MSG and really enjoyed the Pad Thai. The service was welcoming, prompt and swift.
Nice ambience, polite and attentive team looking after guests. Most important, their Thai food is cooked to the best! One of the best Thai restaurants in UK! The Noodles and curry dishes are great! Service is impeccable too and food served at the right temperature,...simply authentic and delicious! Forget about other Thai restaurants in Bath, this is simply the best!More
First time coming to this restaurant recommended by TripAdvisor. Food is just in the average level, the tea tastes too sweat, unfriendly to people doing fitness; the soup smiles badly, the ingredients of food are not fully listed on the menus, containing something allergic.
We visited mid afternoon. I had a duck dish, my partner sweet and sour king prawns. My dish arrived and looked very bland. The spicy sauce was tasty and there was plenty of duck, but hardly anything else to give the dish texture colour and...excitement. My partners dish looked far more hopeful. Big juicy prawns and plenty of stir fry veg. But the sauce was far too sweet and not enough sour, and the veg though crispy was undercooked. The onion was virtually raw. Service was good but I don’t think we’d go back.More
