We went to the king willam in may last year and had an amazing meal. We were visiting bath this week (16th January) again and booked into the king William once more. We have eaten in one & two Michelin star restaurants and the food we had tonight was as good. The price of the food was very reasonably for... More

This small friendly restaurant delivered the perfect roast dinner ! Went on a Sunday afternoon with friends and we were all greatly impressed by the beef roast dinner and the various puddings . Very friendly service and lovely atmosphere. Highly recommended

As we all know, London Road In Bath is a no-go area for decent civilised people like you and me. This busy, noisy, traffic polluted, highly congested section of the old A4 trunk road with nothing of any architectural note to distract us . . should always be avoided! Oops! . . unless of course your destination happens to be... More

Visited recently, nice cosy little pub, short walk from city centre, definitely worth the walk. We had dinner, but they offer a set lunch menu 2 courses for £15 which we will have to go back and try at that price! My main was the venison dish, best game dish I have eaten to date!! All elements cooked to perfection.... More

Popped in over the New Year on the recommendation of the hotel we stayed at. Friendly pub with a great menu. My wife and I opted for Sirloins and our friends had other choices. We were very pleased with the steaks and the chips were big and tasty too.

After a busy few days in bath we opted for something low key and were recommended this pub by our hotel conceirge. The pub is compact and there are no airs and graces nor do they pretend to be a 'gastropub'. But the food well.... not your average pub grub. I had the bath chaps (local fayre) with a creamy... This is a lovely eclectic little gastropub. Their Sunday roasts are superb! Nice linen table clothes and napkins too. Added to that the staff were really friendly and attentive even though they were up until 4am this morning for their New Year's Eve bash.

We popped in for an easy dinner as recommended by our bed & breakfast. It's a British pub with cozy ambience and good food. Try the roast salmon; cooked just right. Crispy on the outside, pinkish inside.

Book ahead -- this place is tiny -- and the food is excellent (and reasonably priced -- our total tab was under £100 for 4, with mains and a couple of drinks). It certainly feels like an authentic local pub -- we noted folks having drinks and dinner with their children and dog! My son tried some of the locally... More

We've been to the King William a number of times over the last 4 years and the food is always good. We tried the set lunch menu this time and it was really reasonable and a great standard.

Description
When the King William restaurant in Bath was converted from the knackered pub it used to be, it became it gastronomic hotspot for Bath-ites who adore the excellent food and relaxed setting. The ground floor is a pub, with the fine dining room upstairs, all now eclectically kitted out with in shades of mauve with antiques, chandeliers and daily blackboard specials. Seasonal, free-range, organic and local sum up the provenance perfectly, for dishes like fried squid with fennel, ruby chard and green sauce and main of fantastic braised lamb for two with herb broth, mash and local greens. Superb small-producer beers and ales and a blistering wine list crown King William a top restaurant in Bath.
