The waitress was a bit rude & we felt like we were providing a bit of inconvenience really. The menu was good and caters for vegetarian options. The Food was a mixed bag, I had the fish & chips - nicely cooked but not enjoyable as had to search for bones, the burger was good but the potato rosti was... More

We dined at the Hop Pole as a large group and had a very good meal. The menu was quite extensive and everyone was happy with their choices. The clam chowder (from the specials board) was particularly good.

We have eaten here several times before. But, today, Sunday, was very disappointing. Despite being at the door at opening time .....midday, after ordering our food we had to wait 40 minutes for it in a very noisy bar area where children outnumbered adults. The food was plentiful enough, but otherwise underwhelming in quality. Only one vegetarian option. Butter that... More
