Small, busy, much admired, family-run restaurant; serving seasonal, locally sourced, freshly cooked food; charming and welcoming staff; sensible and honest prices. Set in a fine Georgian house in Bath's most beautiful position - between The Circus and The Royal Crescent. Voted number 4 in the United Kingdom by The Times "Twenty secret restaurants that foodies love". Bookings advised.

Superb ambience, lovely food and friendly efficient staff. Ask for an upstairs table to avoid the noisier downstairs cellar. Food sublime, wine great too and nothing over priced. Highly recommended.

A wet wednesday evening in Bath for a birthday celebration had some stardust sprinkled over it by the team at The Circus. It was my first visit and I'm almost tempted not to spread the word as I want to be able to eat here...again, many times, as I visit this beautiful city regularly. That would be selfish though and the superb team at The Circus deserve better than me not spreading the word. From a friendly welcome to the incredibly hospitable Amy who served, anticipated, and delivered faultlessly with the sort of professional aplomb which makes you believe you are dining with a hospitable friend (with a culinary genius in the kitchen). I had the flat iron steak with glazed carrots and chimichurri sauce with a side portion of amazing chips. The steak was parfait, beautifully cooked medium to medium rare. Carrots cooked to perfection in beef dripping, and the fluffiest of triple cooked chips. Great cocktails and an intelligent wine list to boot. Keep up the amazing work - I'm sure you will - but do so knowing that this level of excellence will never just be taken for granted.More

This Circus didn’t need a ring master, the star of the show was the food. Interesting menu with tasty and well cooked courses. Friendly staff and great service, such a lovely relaxed lunch in a great City, many thanks

My girlfriend had wanted to dine here for years so we went for her 30th recently and it did not disappoint. The food was sensational (might be the best pie I’ve ever had), the service was excellent (big shout out to Marco who was really...knowledgeable and personable), and they even kindly added some sparkle to her dessert. What a fantastic dining experience and one I highly recommend.More

Had dinner here around the corner from our hotel. Friendly staff, even on a very busy Friday night. It has a warm bistro atmosphere, food was very good, presentation and taste, the whole package. If we lived nearby, this would be a weekly habit. Polenta...cake dessert was a wow.More

We had dinner here and the experience was fabulous. We sat outside and it felt like we were on holiday over in Europe. The staff were wonderful, attentive and the food was lovely. Can't fault them really.

The ambience of the restaurant was perfect and the menu options had some very tempting vegetarian options as well as something to satisfy the meat lovers too. Wine list had good range of wines to suit all pockets. The welcome and service from Marco was...exceptional, just the right balance of friendliness and professionalism and really completed the experience.More
