Coming from Bristol which is a bit of a foody hub, I wasn't expecting to find fireworks in Bath. How wrong was I?! This place is super special. The food was out of this world (depsite the menu sounding pretty simple, the flavours were complex...and unusual - go for the pork belly!); the wine was lovely; the staff super charming. If I lived in Bath I would be a regular. You won't regret a visit to Raphael!More

Really excellent venison with blackberry and parsnip. Altogether flawless. My first visit, but I don't expect it to be my last.

Very lovely meal. Real positive: service is excellent. Available, but not invasive, always prompt and very polite without being false. Food excellently cooked. Would say that fries were disappointing and relied heavily on an accompanying sauce to save them. Also, none of the vegetables had...been introduced to any form of seasoning in the kitchen, which was disappointing. The meat and fish however were perfect. Desert was wonderful. A pistachio cake with a treacle ice cream which is possibly the finest desert I have ever had. We will definitely visit again.More

My wife and I visited Raphael's in Bath on Tuesday 14th December 2021. The positive's; A lovely restaurant with efficient service and a good choice of food. My wife loved all 3 courses she had. The negatives; I had the rib eye steak, which at...£30 was the most expensive dish on the menu. Really disappointing. The steak was at best ordinary and was a bit chewy. The triple cooked chips were overcooked and more like crisps than chips. Wasn't worth £20, we cook better steaks at home. I probably should have complained but I didn't because my wife enjoyed so much I didn't want to spoil her night. If they are going to charge £30 for a steak it should be memorable. It was but not for the right reasons.More

Excellent food and service. Lovely calm atmosphere. We were recommended this restaurant by friends and we visited together (4 of us.) Between us we had the scallop starter, pork starter and the bread. All perfectly cooked and delicious. We had red wine and white wine,standard...bottles-both lovely. The waitress was attentive and friendly. For mains we had the burgers plus the special (sea trout) and the hake dishes. The fish was cooked to perfection and the burgers were clearly homemade with good quality beef. The chocolate ganache pudding and custard tart pudding were equally as divine. I had a margarita cocktail for pudding which was excellent. Couldn’t fault anything and felt it was very reasonably priced for such well presented and good quality fare.More

If you've ever heard of The Curate's Egg (said to be "excellent in parts") then this applies to this restaurant. My meal was perfect. I had the hake and it was delicious; exactly as described on the menu. My friend likes plain, simple food without...relishes. She ordered the burger, which is described as follows on the menu: "Raphael burger – cheddar, pancetta, crispy onion, chipotle mayo, triple cooked chips - 17". When ordering she asked for no onion, mayo or pancetta - just the burger and cheese. When it arrived it had gherkin, sliced tomato and a tomato salsa on it. None of these were mentioned on the menu, so she explained to the waitress and asked for it to be replaced with a simple burger with cheese. When it arrived a second time, the gherkin and sliced tomato were still there, as was the mayo. She didn't have the will to send it back a second time so just ate the burger and not even the bun because it was smeared with relishes that she doesn't eat. Poor show.More
