Had been looking forward to this but so disappointed. Dead quiet no music depressing. Food very poor fish and chips one of the worst we've ever had. Batter wasn't crunchy all soft, anaemic chips and a very long hair within the batter so hygiene not...great.More
Came in for a meal in the evening and was asked for a drinks order before we’d even sat down. We then ordered our food ( a starter and a main). We then waited an hour ( this is no exaggeration) for our starter. (...With all due respect, we had a shared starter so this should not have taken over an hour). The manager did notice that people who came in after us had their food before us so did give us a free round of drinks. This was very appreciated. Our mains arrived in good time but the pub had almost emptied. No member of staff came to check our food was ok or to follow up. We even waited for them so we could ask for the bill but gave up and went to the bar because we’d waited long enough. The food was ok but some food we didn’t order turned up and we had to return some food as it was burnt. ( the server who dealt with this was very professional and apologetic).
The pub is a nice place to dine but just the service on the night wasn’t what we expected and we left disappointed. Probably wouldn’t return.More
We enjoyed our lunch at the Riverside. We sat outside under the grape vine. It was a comfortable space. It was quite noisy further over by the river with children and dogs milling about.
Club sandwich and ploughman's came fairly quickly despite being busy, and...were delicious. Good pint of local beer too.More
The food here is delicious and consistent 😋 I've had the English breakfast and the veggie breakfast and they were both so very tasty. The staff were are so friendly and welcoming , lovely experience all around
Absolutely lovely, well presented, meat was tender, nothing was too much for the chef
Would highly recommend
The service from the staff is great and very polite
This is our third time here and we've had a different meal on all occasions
Not...a single problem with any of them
The children's meals are a good size
We'll be back

Had a nice cream tea here, sat outside and had to use the app to order, which was very easy to do. i think you can go inside somewhere to pay but i preferred staying outside. Scones were nice and warm and lots of jam...and clotted cream (not prepacked either but fresh in a small bowl).More

Apologies for how late the reply to the question is. Dogs ARE more than welcome in both our bars and gardens. The restaurant is the only area of our pub that dogs are not allowed into. We are child friendly throughout the whole pub and do provide high chairs throughout the premises. Apologies again for how long it took to respond.
