On a boys trip out with my Grandson, everyone so welcoming & friendly, food was sublime, evening meal just perfect, good menu, room lovely and clean, beds (we had singles) really comfortable, room and bathroom did the job, breakfast, the bacon & sausages lovely, the whole breakfast package kept us going for most of the day. Set in the pretty village of Dunster the stags Head Inn is situated close to the church and Castle on the main road (I say main road but traffic is slowed by a single file road controlled by traffic lights). Although the village itself was quite (April) the Inn was quite busy (indicating its popularity), but they were able to... More

This is a nice pub serving good food. Plenty of choice and the portions are also a good size. The staff were very friendly and accommodating.

We came here for lunch (a group of girls). The menu has great choices and the food came really quickly and was seriously piping hot. I had scampi, chips and peas which I had not had for about 20 years!! it was lovely really tasty and 18 pieces of scampi!!!!! so much I had to share. Really fluffy tasty chips... More

Lovely pub for drinks or a meal. Candles and fresh flowers on the tables, cosy log fire, welcoming cheerful and efficient staff. Good choice of Ales and Wine - served at the right temperature. The food we had was generous in portion and well cooked. Thank you Stags Head for making our holiday special.

Thought it might be bland, but the food was actually really good. Not much atmosphere but was a weekday

Four of us went for Sunday lunch today,we are staying in the area on holiday. We were warmly welcomed, friendly and efficient staff who were eager to please customers. The service is excellent. It's a quirky ,quaint very old building in a most attractive area. We all chose the Sunday roast lunch which was lamb. The meat was excellent,a very generous... More

Dear Guest, Thank you for your kind words I am sorry the facilities were not up to scratch on decor it is something we are addressing and we did inherit them from previous owners. As you say it is a very old quirky building and there lies the problem. The outside area where the ladies and gentlemens cloakrooms are situated,... More

We called in to this pub in the mid-afternoon of last Saturday. We had just been on a walk and were hungry. We asked if we could get something to eat and agreed that sandwiches would be a good idea. There were 6 of us, including 2 children. We asked for 2 ham and 4 cheese. A very attractive plate... More

Frankly we are quite shocked and astounded by this review . It was after 4pm and our kitchen was closed and had been for an hour. It was clear that everyone was in need of sustenance particularly the children My wife offered to re-open the kitchen as she is that kind of person who will go the extra mile always... More

I was welcomed in even though they were closing. I came back later and was so impressed by the decor, the fireplaces blazing and the general warmth of the staff. They have ensuite rooms upstairs and a lovely garden out back. The Inn is centrally located so all of the sights are a short walk away.
