Considering this cafe is a little hidden away, with only one small door on the street to reveal its presence, it was super busy and we struggled to find somewhere to sit! This obvious popularity was justified, as we had a truly delicious vegan lunch - very generous portions and very reasonably priced. The staff were super friendly too. As visitors to Glastonbury, we are sad that we don't have such a lovely cafe at home!

No wonder locals eat here. Forget fancy and pricey places, this is proper homemade, healthy and delicious food. Great atmosphere too. Best cakes and homemade bread. They have an amazing hot spiced apple juice which is just what you need after a walk up the Tor on a rainy day. It's worth the queue. Staff is super friendly too. When I visit Glastonbury I love sitting at the Rainbow cafe and write, when it's not too busy. Lovely place

On Monday 21st September, at 12 midday my friend & I again were starving so we decided for vegetarian lunch. We were served behind a perplex screen , lots of choice so we decided on the cheese and broccoli quiche and had 2 choices of salad which we had to put on trays with drinks and take to our table . We choose our own table outside, the food was delicious, there was a one way system, where u go in at the front and go out of the back, you leave yr trays and the waitress picks them up when u leave. Good Covid safety measures in. The food and flavours were outstanding and presented lovely. The staff were friendly too. I would definitely come back to this lovely eatery, Thank you to you alk, Tracey Russell

Stopped here for lunch while visiting Glastonbury for the day. We ordered 2 salads, at £8 a salad, we felt it was pretty expensive for what we got. Also, despite the ‘wear a mark’ signs and the QR code presented on the way in, zero covid precautions in place, and while it seemed safe from the onset, we felt very mislead. None of the staff wore masks or social distanced, and didn’t encourage customers to either. Wouldn’t head back.

Let's be clear, it's by no means an awful place, but it's certainly below average by today's standards. If you take these reviews as gospel, you will be disappointed. That is unless you are used to eating without herbs and spices or like to bake in the dark. We tried a few different options and found them all to be just a little so so, boring in fact. Perhaps a coffee and some dessert would save the day? Unfortunately not - they don't offer coffee such as lattes, flat whites or espressos and the cake we ordered had large margarine lumps in the icing. There is a nice little garden area if you happen to visit during the summer, but this place really is nothing to rave about.

I popped in for a lunch bite. Have been going here for many years. Thought it rather over priced for a few hard and half of them inedible garlic potatoes. A lovely frittata but at £5:80 for a small slice of frittata and a few potatoes I couldn’t eat it was really disappointing. The restaurant looks in dire need of some TLC, completely redecorating. If it were my restaurant I couldn’t allow my customers to sit in such shabbiness. The sugar pots look damp and grim. Honestly I ate my lunch thinking about nothing else but how I would rip it all out... after all these years I feel the customers deserve an update/deep clean/redecorate. It’s well over due. I dont think it’s been done forever! I’ve enjoyed some amazingly filling meals over the last 3 decades but won’t be going back any time soon. Come on... I’m a local business owner too... shape up please to your former glory!🙏

Gary and I went for Sunday lunch today at this lovely vegetarian cafe. We both had the nut roast which was really nice and huge portions. It does get a bit bustling in there as the tables are quite close together so you can hear everyone else's conversations but the food is great and the staff are very friendly.

I’m a Glastonbury local. Rainbows End is my favourite eatery and I’m there a few times every week. Everything is fresh, made on the premises and healthy, I can always be sure of my five a day. I ordered a birthday cake from there last week, it was delicious and very reasonably priced, the birthday boy was thrilled. Thank you Rainbows End for alway feeding me well and bringing a smile to my face. Xx

Did not understand the hype of this place. Jacket pot was hard and cold and clearly been cooked all day. Quiche no taste of cheese. Salad and cakes average at best. Have experienced a lot better food. The cafe needed a great clean as well. Hygiene practices observed were not great. Owners need to spend money on the place and put smiles on their staff faces as everyone miserable. Not a warm and welcoming place.

Eat here, you won't regret it. Had hot chocolate and Mrs had spiced apple to drink. We then ordered food from the counter. Absolutely gorgeous. A taste sensation. Get the salad. You choose the elements you want and the taste, seasoning and flavours were out of this world. Sounds like a broad and vague description but here's the deal.... I don't write reviews, but this place warranted one. Look carefully for it on the high street, it's halfway up on the left... Small doorway, easily missed.

We had 2 slices of cake, one a vegan blackcurrant Victoria sandwich, the other coffee and walnut cake. Large portions, well priced, fresh, homemade cakes. They were delicious and lasted us 2 hungry sittings each. Given how small we remembered the cafe was, it was a pleasure to find that it has expanded into the outer room and garden. It has a clearly marked one-way system and has protective screens for the staff, food and customers. It felt very reassuring, and we look forward to returning for a meal next time.

The good: The food is really decent with a wide range to choose from. It has a real 1980s wholefood café feel, with that stodgy, carb-heavy food that in my view is no bad thing. The cakes are always fantastic. The physical space (including the outside space) is very pleasant, if a little tight. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The not so good: The queuing system is awful. Hard to tell if there's something you want until you've waited for five minutes and can see the counter. Maybe at least photograph the menu each morning and post it on social media? It's a terrible experience for anyone with an anxiety-related condition as decisions about what to eat have to be made at the last minute under pressure. My autistic partner hates visiting. It's also difficult if you think you might want a piece of cake but want to see if you have space after lunch, because that would mean going back to the queue for another fifteen minute wait. The service time is really slow, and the food is generally luke warm at best by the time you sit down to eat it. So many times I've joined the queue only to see groups come in behind me and send someone to grab a table. Tables should only be available after serving. What am I meant to do with a tray of food when there's nowhere left to sit? Alternatively, let anyone reserve a table before joining the queue, which would be fair to everyone.

Hello, thank you for your feed back. We do have a menu with the daily specials on it in the hallway and a more general one at the start of the hall, maybe you haven't noticed them? I apologise that you find the food to be luke warm, I have asked staff to plate up the hot component of the meal last, I will make sure this happens. If you are wanting cake or a coffee after your meal then you don't have to re-join the queue, Just let the staff know and you will be served when they have finished serving their current customer. We do not allow people to hold tables unless someone in the party isn't able to stand for the time needed. If we see it happening we will politely ask them to wait until they have been served to find a seat. Customers who have been served have priority over seating. I will make a sign stating that. As for the whole queuing system, I know it's a pain and can totally understand why some people may find it tricky or even impossible to to wait in such close proximity to people they don't know, but it the system that works best for us. We rely on a high turn over of customers and that customers can see the salads and savouries we have available so they can chose, which unfortunately wouldn't work if we were to provide table service. I am glad though that, you love our cakes and the staff are friendly and helpful.

As vegetarian cafes go, this one is excellent. My only complaint is the absence of prices on their menu board…in fact there’s very little description and explanation of the food available. So it’s pot luck what we buy! Having said that, so long as we arrive before midday, giving us plenty of time to avoid the build-up of diners joining the queue, we usually have the time to ask the serving staff what each item of food contains and how much it costs…and is always delicious!

We chose here after reading the reviews, it's well worth the visit. We had the Sunday nut roast as recommended by a local who we were next to in the queue. We sat and enjoyed this in the beautiful courtyard. We are not vegetarian and had not had a nut roast before, its going to be a new addition to our repertoire

We were looking for an afternoon tea and cake stop when we noticed a small door to a cafe. We walked through a short corridor to the cafe and found a table, which was clean and had sufficient space for two. We were served quickly, politely and offered milk alternatives as they are aware of people's preferences. The carrot cake and cheese scone were delightfyl and large. The tea was exemplary. In fitting with it's Glastonbury surroundings, the cafe was new age hippyish, so friendly, warm and welcoming. They looked after an apparently homeless gentleman while we were there, giving him a hot drink and talking to him nicely. Great to see.
