Had to wait 45 minutes for our food, when the pub was not that full this Father's Day. The food when it arrived was all fairly tasteless. The menu was very limited in choice or interest and pricey for the standard provided. Sadly we won't...More

Our group of 28 was very well looked after last weekend. Food was lovely and the staff couldn't have been more friendly. I hope we weren't too noisy for the rest of the guests!

We can only apologise profusely. Our manager had to go to A&E at short notice. Not withstanding, this should never have happened and was an error on our part and a breakdown in our customer service at every level. Once again, sincere apologies. We will...More

We have recently opened after a refurbishment programme. Bar and restaurant are complete. Outside patio area requires planning permission before works can take place - should be ready for the early summer (Target = 1st April). Stocks and shackles in the old City Jail are being repaired and will be used for any customers who over-indulge on our fine ales!. Much done and much more to do to restore the City Arms to its former glory. as one of England's finest pubs.
