I’d give this 10 if I could. Often popping into a hotel when you’re on business and not staying there is a little awkward. Not here. Bar staff super attentive, asked if I wanted to be fitted in to bistro. Staff all over we’re super...attentive and you could tell they all enjoyed working there. Food was brilliant, chefs pie which I think and hope was a great use of the Sunday lunch leftovers. Nothing bad to say. Classy, contemporary, traditional and great value.More

Looked lovely when we sat down, as did the menu. My friend ordered the swinging kebab snd I ordered two starters plus chips as a main. Due to the way restaurants are operating now, we paid for the food at the table before it had...even arrived - we had to ask could we see the physical bill as they didn’t produce it initially (it was £47 for two with no alcoholic drinks). The chips were amazing but that’s where my praise of the food ends. Everything I had - hummus, falafels and baba ganoush (which actually wasn’t right at all but was simply cooked cut up aubergine) were all completely and utterly tasteless. Not even a hint of salt let alone any flavour - it any of them! I called the waitress over about the baba ganoush and she said she’d check with the chef if it was correct. She returned and said it was correct. But she also agreed with me that it simply didn’t look right and it wasn’t made correctly (didn’t even resemble it). I was hungry so ate what I could, with the help of some mayonnaise to give it flavour, and then waited for our plates to be taken - upon which point I was going to complain. However we waited nearly 20 minutes for someone to clear our table (it was not busy where we were sat snd other tables had been cleared). When no one came I went and complained to a young lady behind the bar. She spoke to the duty manager who agreed to give us a round of drinks and a desert each for free. The deserts were the only good thing about the whole experience. The worst vegetarian food I’ve had in quite some time. Neither I nor my friend live in Stafford so we thankfully won’t need (or want) to visit again. Perhaps it’s fine for a drink but definitely not for food.More

Service and restaurant ambience good Vegan menu for evening was terrible. Choice was curry or burger. That is it. Please, surely the chef can be more adventurous! Will not be visiting again unless they offer more choice.

I went to The Swan for lunch on Saturday and I was HORRIFIED that they charged me £6.00 for a pint of Peroni and a pint of Guinness was £5.10. The egg sandwich was a poor standard for the price. Absolutely zero chance I will...ever go to this establishment again!More

We dined in the Brasserie today (13/6). The staff served us courteously, promptly and weren’t intrusive. Dietary needs are well catered for, as well as adapting dishes based on personal preference (eg no mayo). The roast meal was delicious, roast pork with a selection of...veg. The Club sandwich was fantastic, the best club sarnie I’ve had anywhere. Both were well-presented. Amberle & Jess are proactive in anticipating what needs to be attended to, and seem very organised; Kitty also seems more confident in her role in Reception. All the staff were very capable & helpful.More

Staying in the hotel and due to covid restrictions, booked a table the week before we arrived. Had searched for somewhere to eat in town and couldn’t really find anywhere that suited. Pleased we had booked ahead as the restaurant was busy, even for a...Sunday evening. The menu on offer was the Sunday menu, roasts plus a few other items. We both opted for a roast, which was exceptional quality for so late on a Sunday. All items were very fresh. Only downside was the plate may have been too large, at first we thought it was a small portion, but how wrong we were. Service was good, and food quality for price was also good. Please we booked here. Thanks to the whole team.More

Went to the Swan with my bestfriend today for my Birthday lunch. Had the most amazing Trout and Poached egg salad. The waitress was delightful and service excellent. Couldn't fault it.
