Enjoyed an excellant lunch in this quirky fish market cum restaurant. Loved the salmon pate starter which was enhanced by some superb pickled cucumber. Sounds wierd but really worked. The mains were great too - with my Fish curry being outstanding. The staff here were attentive and friendly. Would certainly recommend it.

Looking for lunch in a strangely quiet Aldeburgh High Street, we spotted the busy Aldeburgh Market - a combination wet and smoked fish shop and cafe/restaurant. Our first visit and excellent food, relaxed, professional service and sensible prices. We enjoyed perfectly cooked new-season mussels and a plate of smoked fish (2 styles of smoked salmon, sprats, anchovies and prawns). £26... More

We popped in for coffee but the menu sounded so tempting we decided to have breakfast as well. My locally smoked kippers were delicious, my partner wasn't so impressed with the kedgeree which he said was lacking in fish and a bit dry. But lovely busy atmosphere and great coffee. Would definitely go back to sample the lovely looking cakes.... More

Lovely set up with cafe next to shop selling fresh fish, veg and deli items. We only wanted a light lunch as plans for an evening meal out later so chose home made bread olives and hummus to share..was very tasty and very reasonable value. Another time will try something else..mussels looked delicious. Homemade cakes very tempting but managed to... More

We have regularly visited Aldeburgh, either for a day trip or for the weekend. Aldeburgh Market is the place to eat. Great food, varied menu & fabulous service. It's a good idea to book ahead as it is very popular even in the winter months. I am happy to say that since the beginning of November we now LIVE in... More

The cafe is accessed through a shop with a fish counter, so it's no surprise that the menu features fish based dishes heavily. I had the haddock gratin and it was excellent. Definitely give them a try for fresh, tasty food and good value.

We had lunch here and coffee a couple of times. We also bought fish and vegetables in the attached shop. Everything was done to an excellent standard - the quality of the food and the friendly service. A rare business which must work hard to keep high standards.
