Went there tonight for work's Xmas meal. Sitting at 7.30 for meal, didn't get starters until 8.15 and dessert still hadn't arrived by 10.10 when I had to leave to get train home.

Your not going to find this place unless you're looking for it. Away from the shops, it's only found if you spot the blackboard at the top of Whiting Street. But please make the effort. Great food. Good beers. Small garden area. Great for lunch and dinner.

Value for money, lovely environment, good service, would definitely visit if again in Bury, only disappointment was in a Green King pub, the home town of the brewery and they'd run out of Green King IPA

The Masons Arms is a nice pub with a good selection of beer but it falls down with quality of its food. I had liver and bacon with vegetables. It was like eating a school dinner. Lumpy dry mashed potato and basic veg with no real TLC gone into preparing them. My wife had a beef sandwich which was ok... More

The thing about the Masons is that despite being Greedy King it has a good selection of very good ales. Very nice service, Walmart and welcoming. The food is pub good but that's what we went in there for. As Bury Town centre continues to die one wonders how long these old pubs have left.

I have eaten here a couple of times and never been disappointed. In the summer it is nice to be able to sit outside in the courtyard and no one hassles you to move on. I have always found the food very good and the chips were lush.

Found by accident but will be back again. It smells like a proper pub as you approach the front door. Warm and inviting with nice wooden bar and back drop. Great selection of beers. We didn't eat as was booked in else where but the food I saw coming through looked awesome so I will be back to sample this.... More

This place is somewhere I often end up eating in when staying nearby. Food didn't disappoint as usual a little difficult to get a seat (Tuesday quiz night) so sat in court yard. Good uncomplicated food , recommend the pies
