The Swan is a lovely venue. The lunchtime menu is very reasonably priced and the food we enjoyed was plentiful and good quality. Service was excellent too. Good wine list as well. 100% better than a Christmas dinner I experienced in Norwich the day before! The Swan have recently extended the venue to include a Spa. Looked great but yet... More

We visited for a night to celebrate my wife's birthday. Its not cheap, but then everything feels very premium, as well as having that 'olde worlde' vibe (in a classy way). We also found that if you book a deal to stay, including dinner and total up everything you get, it's not silly pricey for a special occasion. The meal... More

The brasserie offers a reasonably priced lunch in a beautiful, partly medieval building. A lovely way to spend lunch with good food and a nice bar and comfortable lounge next door.

We ate here for dinner whilst staying at the hotel. Good choice of food and reasonably priced - straight forward bistro food Ambience is a little strange- the hotel decor is old worldly, and 'cosy' but the brassiere is modern / open and a bit 'cold' as a result the acoustics were odd - we could hear every word spoken... Thank you for taking the time to share your review on Trip Advisor. We value customer feedback and appreciate your comments - thank you. Following a recent chimney fire in the Brasserie, we are due to have a log burner installed, in the near future. There are plans to implement music in the Brasserie too, but I am sorry they... More

We stayed at the Swan for two nights mid week and dined the first evening in the Bistro. The food was delicious. However the ambience in the Bistro was non existent. Whoever decided that moulded plastic chairs would look nice in a beautiful medieval hotel with enormous character was sadly mistaken. Sadly the fire could not be lit as they... More

We dined here in a Sunday evening Very nice ambience ,open fires in bar area. Food was very good , my husband really enjoyed fish pie My only comment is that due to our late dining , there were only 3 couples there , some background music would have added to the atmosphere Will visit again

OK, I have a confession to make. I did not pick this much vaunted and flaunted venue and would normally have turned around in the Reception and walked out. I mean, a Reception in a pub. But I forget it is in fact a Hotel, no it is a Spa, and much more as the blurbs on the menus, cocktail... More

For a lunchtime meal the Brasserie is perfect, being a bit less formal than the main dining room but bright, airey and comfy. The menu has some very good choices and the food is superb. All in all great place to eat with family or friends.

Although we were staying at The Swan we decided to eat in the brasserie instead of the restaurant. The ribeye steak melted in your mouth and the meal was piping hot and delicious. Although it hasn't got the character of the main restaurant, it was a nice little area to have a delicious meal and we then took our coffee... More

Although we enjoyed our meal we felt the service was rather poor and the children we were with were looked on as being somewhat of a nuisance.
