In Newmarket for the Frankel Tour. After a rest we ventured out for an Indian. Montaz was in the next street from our hotel. WHAT A FIND.................I had the Guinea Fowl, my Husband had the Goat & Potato Curry. DELIGHTS ON PLATES!!!! The Rhubarb side...with the Guinea Fowl was EXCEPTIONAL !!!! If you like Indian, with a TWIST this is your first stop!!!!More
A great little gem in the heart of Newmarket town center. The quality of the food spoke for itself, outstandingly good. The service was impeccable and nothing was to much trouble for the staff. Most restaraunts i find appetiser to be the star dishes but...at Montaz the mains are also immensely scrumptious with different flavours within each dish (not your old school base gravy for every curry) i would highly recommended you try this restaurant as you will definitely not be disappointed.More
This is simply the best Indian restaurant we have been to. Sublime food, the chicken wings were a delicious starter, as was the tikka. Fantastic service & friendly staff. Reasonably priced for the quality. Highly recommend
An incredibly special dining experience in the finest Indian Restaurant in Suffolk. Once youve been here, it puts all the others into perspective. Everything is carefully delivered and top quality from light poppadoms, tasty mains and hand made desserts. Properly made coffee, coke served from...a glass bottle and perfect service. Weve had Indian in Londons Mayfair similar to this and must say still rate Montaz better. Perfect for that special occasion.More
Absolutely stunning! Would 100% recommend to go! We will most certainly be back. Food was superb and service was wonderful. Very impressed
Visited for the first time and it won’t be the last. A great menu choice including dishes you won’t find in ‘standard’ neighbourhood Indian restaurants. Flavours fresh and very tasty and friendly and efficient staff. Thankyou!
Great food selection, without being a too overbearing menu. All good we had was fresh and tasty with portion sizes reasonable but not too heavy - all at a reasonable price of £30 a head ish with a drink. Service was spot on as well....Would returnMore
Top food, top staff, best service, excellent management and particularly Mobin. Excellent all round thanks!
We visited here 17th September 2022. The menu had some spectacular options, and the quality of the food was excellent! The attentiveness and care of the service was second to none!! The ambiance was perfect! Thoroughly recommend this first class restaurant!
Absolute rip off and are meals were mediocre at best. Service charge of 10% with very little service. Would not recommend
Friday wasn’t too busy but service was slow, had to ask for menu abut 10 minutes after arriving, food was nice but two mains ( chicken madras) couple sides and bread with 2 beers almost £70 was a bit overpriced really
It was the best meal and deserve it a 5 stars.Lovely staff , the service was great and quick . I've been here many times i will be back again !
Such a shame to have to write a bad review, but feel I need to after last night’s experience. The portion sizes here have never been generous but the quality and taste have made up for that previously, but this time we were absolutely astounded...by the chicken tikka starter, well if you blinked you’d have missed it ! I can only describe it as one chicken mini fillet ( at most ), cut into slithers and arranged into a pretty little pyramid for £7 each, no salad or anything else on the plate bar a small pot of mint sauce. Seriously it’s not Mayfair or the West End but a small Suffolk market town, maybe we were unlucky and it’s not always like that. Honestly cannot believe I didn’t take a photo as nobody could believe it without seeing it but was in shock ! Also the thought of someone ordering it as a main course for £14 was hilarious I would like to see their reaction! The main course was very tasty and portion size was fine so lesson learnt for us not to bother ordering starters next time, if there is a next time. Considering how high the prices are it’s also disappointing that they put a 10% service charge on the bill too.More
3 of us had a Dhansak but it was ridiculously hot. Hotter than the Jalfrezi our friend had. Such a shame as it was tasty but the heat ruined it. I've had enough Dhansaks in my time to know it should be medium & this...definitely wasn't! Its expensive too so we probably won't return.More
