We have been going to the "Spotted Dog" for years. It has retained a studied "spit and sawdust atmosphere"- a "real pub" not a faceless eatery. Nevertheless the lunches have always been excellent, imaginative and reasonably priced. However- We visited on Saturday last (26/2/17) having not visited for a few weeks and were told that the menu had changed. A... More

Visiting Dorking, we came here for lunch around 12 noon and left around 2:30pm. Service was slow and intermittent, with the staff constantly going of to the kitchen because they were short of bar staff and reliant on stand-ins that lunchtime. The veggie sausages* and veggie burger were very good. So were the desserts: key lime dessert with cream and... More

We stumbled across this very traditional pub which we are glad to say was serving food over the bank holiday. We were served by the landlady who although was very busy, did a great job of making us feel welcome. The food which I understand they have only just started to offer was superb! Very simple menu that just works.... More

Friendly staff, pub that looks like a pub rather than a bar! Decent choice of beers and lagers, food quite appealing with burgers and the like. Ace bar snacks - great variety of good brands of nuts and crisps. Beers not cheap but then where is it cheap.. toilets are a bit dilapidated and down in the garden - the... More

My wife and i visited the tree on Sunday 3r July we arrived at 130pm then the music started what a brilliant afternoon, the customers and staff where friendly the music was great fun we didn't eat but when food was brought out it looked like real home cooked food i would definitely be returning.

They have a pleasant garden area to the rear of the property, which is not apparent at first, and has good views as well. So, we ate outside, and enjoyed their food, and their beer as well.

We chose the Spotted Dog at random and found the food adequate, the locale rather run down, and the other customers very noisy and unwilling to make way for anyone to move around. The barman was a cheerful chappy, however!

Visited on a very wet Sunday afternoon. On arrival we were greeted, eventually, by a unfriendly man who made us feel like a inconvenience. My dad had booked, though goodness knows why as no-one else was eating. There was no music and it was freezing. I asked if it was possible to light the fire. I barely got an answer... More
