Massive portions and really good quality food. The perfect place for a spot of lunch before a leisurely walk in the wonderful surroundings. Very busy so might be worth booking in advance.

Excellent friendly service with a smile. Was busy but nothing was any trouble. Coffee was excellent and hot definitely visit again.
We are frequent visitors over many years and also visit the Dabbling Duck. The service last weekend was really poor. We weren't offered a menu/or welcomed at all. We had to get our own menus. I ordered 2 portions of chips and specified that each...of my children would have the chips, they arrived on one plate. Our server did not look happy about having to get another plate. We were not offered any condiments, we had to get our own. No one asked us if the food was okay or if we needed to order anymore drinks. Everyone seemed to be abandoned outside after they had ordered their mains. For the prices of the mains it would have been nice to be offered some tap water. Obviously we had to go in to get our bill as no one would have asked us if we wanted it. Then the sting of having a nearly £5 service charge automatically added to my bill. I have definitely been when you have been busier, there were surplus ladies standing around the kitchen area looking lost and bored. I sent an email to the manager last week and no response.More
First visit to this place, when we arrived we waited outside by the sign to be seated and chose to seat in the garden. It is in a lovely location with great views. It was early afternoon so we told the waitress we were there...for tea and cake, she brought us the menu and there were no cakes in it so we chose to have a scone each. In handsight, we should have asked about the cakes but as we explained that we were there for tea and cake I thought mistakenly that there were none! I did wonder if we missed the cakes in the menu, but it wasn't that big. A friendly person brought us a large teapot of tea and plenty of milk, unfortunately, my cup was dirty, with tea in it! She was very apologetic and brought another teacup that was clean, but it wasn't pleasant to be given a dirty cup. The scones were ok, the cream did not taste great, I am not sure if it was clotted cream but I did not like it or tasted like what I know as clotted cream The jam was nice. When we were ready to leave, I walked inside to pay only to realise that there were loads of cakes!! I wonder why the waitress did not tell us about it, I think she assumed we had been there before. I paid around £16 for a pot of tea and 2 sconnes which was ok but all in all, the service was very poor.More
Visited for lunch after walking at Newlands Corner which is just across the road. A nice sit-down alternative to the 'window service only' place in Newlands Corner car park. The welcome and service was excellent, the food was good. Lunch menu consists mainly of hot/cold...sandwiches and burgers. Slightly expensive for what it is - £3.40 for tea with oat milk and £16 for a burger with fries, £5.50 for small portion of sweet potato fires. £8 for a childs meal plus £2 for a small carton of kids juice, so essentially a tenner per child. We sat inside and our visit was spoiled somewhat by multiple wasps landing on our food several times. They have wasp traps outside but we didn't spot anything to deal with this problem inside. We may have been unlucky, but they could do with doing more to address this problem in the summer. We'd return.More
Very nice pancakes and brownie in the sunshine and lovely pattern on the lattes!! We were sat outside and saw some lovely dogs.
Fab service and very busy meeting spot. Lovely flavour and variety and one of the tastiest vegetarian breakfasts enjoyed with great coffee and service.
Popped in for a late lunch and it was very good. Loved the beetroot salad. Large selection of drinks/ beverages. Eye pleasing selection of cakes. Staff friendly. Well placed for the North Down walks.
Found this place by accident on Saturday during a drive around the Surrey Hills. Got there just before midday and was offered the breakfast menu. One of the best breakfasts we've had for a long time. Nice to see proper thick butchers bacon along with...2 rounds of toast per person. Great value for money and with the weather being so good being able to sit outside and look at the amazing view over the Surrey Hills topped it off. Will definitely pop in again when in the area.More
First time visit and what a lovely secret Newlands corner is hiding. Staff were so lovely, fast service, good value and, most importantly, the food was bloody delicious!!!! Highly recommended and we will definitely be going again.
Nice coffee. We stopped for a takeaway coffee and they have a good selection of cakes. We tried the lemon one and the coffee and walnut, the size are huge! Very good quality.
Popped in here to meet friends for a breakfast over the Christmas break. We sat in the canopied area attached to the restaurant which is as they say rustic. The breakfast itself was wonderful...great quality ingredients and service very pleasant. If you're passing or walking...nearby then I'd have no idea why you wouldn't stop hereMore
We booked and pre-ordered food for 12 people on a busy December day. The service was warm and friendly and the food was tasty and good value. However we did have to wait a bit too long for our food (especially given we had pre-ordered)...and when it arrived one dish was missing and so there was an even longer wait for my husband! They were busy but I feel it could have been faster. Will definitely return on a quieter day!More
This is a great cafe after a long walk! The hot chocolates are great, they have options for vegans and dairy free options. The mint hot chocolate is a particular favourite of mine. The milkshakes are also a great treat on a hot day. There...are two cafes, located in shere and new lands corner - both busy and lively. They are located in beautiful areas with many different trails for walking. Would definitely recommend!More
The view is beautiful, the hot chocolates are delicious, there are so many cakes and they have many meal options too. This is a good place to come to for family and friends
