A very relaxed pub with a great choice of beers on tap and a good selection of drinks. The food was great , the atmosphere is young and modern. The bar has a TV with the rugby playing. I would highly recommend!

Nice old fashioned pub with a lovely snug area of comfy sofas and armchair, tasty Shiraz and best of all, fabulous music! Where else can you drink while listening to Sunny by Manfred Mann, Rediscover by The Zombies and Don’t Leave Me by Harry Nillson?
We visited this pub after some shopping. It’s an interesting place on different levels. The drinks (wine and beer) were a bit pricey, but nice. The toilets were down some uneven stairs, so make sure you haven’t had too many drinks before finding them. A...nice touch in the ladies was a basket with emergency supplies of tampons, towels, deodorant, hairspray, etc. there is also outside seating out the back. We would visit again next time we’re in Guildford.More
A pub with loads of potential. Ale questionable. Had a Whitstable Bay pale ale which tasted unlike any I have tasted ( ultra bland - this beer really isnt). There were 4 at the bar and I was disappointed to hear "who's next". Too many...pubs seem to think it is the responsibility of the customers to fight for the attention of the inattentive. Also had a pint of Spitfire. Again inexplicably bland.More
My fiancé and I were so taken with The Star Inn that stopped in for drinks both nights of our 2-day stay in Guildford. This is a charming, cozy, and inviting pub with a great selection of beers - perfect for a pint (or two)....We were delighted to meet the manager on our second visit, who we chatted with for at least an hour (she was there even on her night off!) Talking with her over some pints was truly one of the highlights of our trip - we are already planning our return visit. Hope to see you soon, Pip!More
On May 17th we called into the Star Inn Guildford for an early lunch, coffee and sandwich. The staff at 12 midday were Andy and Rachel; Andy made the best coffee in Guildford and Rachel was extremely friendly and efficient. The sandwiches were lovely, the...pub is delightful, we can definitely recommend it and will return. Mally and DavidMore
This place is a bit of a tardis and we came with my friend who is vegetarian on a busy Saturday lunchtime when our other walk in options were full. We were both surprised by the vegan options including vegan bacon on the burger and...when it was delivered we were even offered vegan mayonnaise. Great service, good food and good value. Will come again.More
Perfect little pub just off the highstreet. Good selection of beer and a juke box would definitely visit again!
On the side outside this pub, they say that it is the oldest pub in Guildford. On the day we stopped for lunch, they could not offer a full menu as they had no gas. Settled for sandwiches and a beer, which was not bad....This pub has lots of character and would love to have tried one of their main lunch meals.More
This is a genuinely old pub with stacks of atmosphere, it is no surprise that it was the busiest pub we visited on our trip. The service was excellent, efficient and friendly and the prices were really good as well, certainly compared with nearby venues....As I have said, this is an old building with lots of nooks and crannies and steps, so not the sort of place I would like to have one too many in, at least until I was more familiar with the layout!! We sat in a lower bar and I must say that it was a bit cold. The bar you entered into was lovely and snug, and very full. Next time, we will know better where to head for. I really enjoyed Guildford, on our next visit we will be bringing our friends. There are so many places we can show them and, high on the list, will be the StarMore
Traditional pub very welcoming, only had drinks but they do serve food menu looked nice. Traditional ales and local beers. The pub is over 400 years old and has live entertainment on certain days.
Stopped here for a drink and some lunch. The pub itself has a lot of character inside and has some cosy seating both inside and outside which gives it a lovely feel. The staff were friendly and welcoming. However the food was not worn the...price at all. We ordered a sandwich each thinking at £7 per sarni it would come with some chips or something. It was really disappointing, there were some brown droopy rocket leaves for decoration. Just not worth the price, May consider going back for a drink but definitely not for any food.More
"Proper pub" might not mean much to some, but if you know you know. Warm welcome, well kept ales and cosy surroundings. I love the pubs sensible and safe approach to Johnson's latest folly.
We came to the Star Inn and decided to have a meal before with watch the show s attached to the pub. The staff are very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent and I will definitely come here again.
Met friends here for drinks and was told Various outsides seating was ‘reserved for locals’ who never actually showed. Was asked to leave to make room for non existent customers, even though 5 outside tables were free. Having lived in Guildford for 20 years, I...consider myself to be ‘local’ but guess I didn’t make the cut, for whatever reason. Will drink somewhere else next time.More
